Hanging Out With the Fam [open to Fennel family]

Fennelcloud sat in the center of the clearing in the camp, looking up at the stars that were scattered across the sky. It was a beautiful night and she wanted to enjoy the view even in the cold chill of the night wind. She just had what was hopefully her last litter of kits. Sure, she liked kits, but she was starting to get older. She needed to do other things with her life. She already had grandkits. Great grandkits actually. She was done with her time. Wow she's older than I thought... Now she was simply watching them as they played in the camp. "Be careful!" she mewed, watching all of the hustle and bustle around her.

Mosskit loved the night. It was cold enough she was shivering, but the stars were so pretty and the camp looked so amazing lit up by nothing except the light from the moons and stars. The world was so open to her, free for her to explore and see all the sights. She could hear her mother, Fennelcloud, call out to her to be careful, but she couldn't help wander around everywhere. After all, her Grandfather was Thrushstar, the biggest, strongest cat around, who would dare hurt her? "I'll be fine! Don't worry!" She meowed, zipping around the camp after a firefly that had just caught her attention.

Sandfire came from the nursery stretching a bit. The queen smiled a bit seeing her mother and new younger sister. She came and sat beside her mother, Fennelcloud."hello mother"she mewed smiling some. Though she glanced behind her as she saw her grand daughter, Fracturedkit come scampering from the nursery.

Fracturedkit smiled and came scampering from the nursery. She scampered right to Mosskit to play with her smiling.

Silverkit bounded behind, her darker tinted tabby fur shining in the moonlight. She stayed close to her mother, but eventually moved to Mosskit, eyes twinkling with amazement at the shiny, shimmering sky. "It's pretty." She murmured, whiskers twitching. She smiled, and danced in the moonlight that bathed her.

Magpiewing sat near the entrance of the warrior's den, gently cleaning his black fur. Hidden from the moon by the shade of brambles, only his amber eyes and white chest patch could be seen in the darkness. His mother's voice rose above the clamber of the clan, causing the warrior to lift his gaze and pause his bathing. The queen had recently given birth, odd for a she-cat of her age. The dark tom was worried how his mother was fairing.

Rising from his spot, he padded up to the ginger and white queen. Sandfire had joined her as well, sitting on the other side of Fennelcloud. He followed his mother's eyes to see his youngest siblings and Fracturedkit admiring the stars. Young Mosskit seemed particularly enthusiastic, enjoying the freedom as much as Magpiewing had when he was her age. "She reminds me of myself at that age," the tom purred, licking his paw.

After watching the kits so long, Fennelcloud was a little surprised when Sandfire joined her. "Greetings, Sandfire. How are you tonight?" she purred as she lay down and moved her gaze back to Mosskit, Fracturedkit and Silverkit. When Magpiewing joined them, the queen simply laughed. "You sure were a handful too when you were young. Both of you were. Always climbing on everything and getting under paw, but it was fun!"

Fracturedkit looked up at the sky quietly before she blinked and flicked her tail before she looked at Moss kit then to Silverkit.


Sandfire smiled and nodded"yeah we were pretty rambunctious "She laughed a bit as she remembered."though it feels like ages ago "she said.

Silverkit blinked, a smile appearing on her face. She gazed up at the stars, watching them. How beautiful. I wonder how many up there are my kin! She thought, thinking about everything that had happened with their clan from stories. She apparently had many siblings. "Hi, brother! Hi, sister!" She said with a purr, padding over to Magpiewing and Sandfire. "Look how beautiful the stars are." She mewed to them, her eyes still twinkling with amazement.

"Be careful, Fracturedkit," came a soft voice as a white queen appeared from the nursery. Her gentle green eyes scanned the cats gathered and a smile grew on her face. It was her family. Frostwhisper padded over to her kit and gave her a few licks, before looking up at her mother, Sandfire. "Hello, mother," she purred with a dip of her head. "Greetings, grandmother, hello, Mosskit, hello Silverkit." Her eyes landed on Magpiewing last. "Hi, Magpiewing," she purred. Oh, man Frostwhisper had a lot of kin. Fennelwing was her grandmother, Mosskit and Silverkit were her aunts, and Magpiewing was her uncle. "What a beautiful night," Frostwhisper purred to Silverkit with a smile.

Shatteredsoul watched with piercing, icy blue eyes from the warrior's den. His family was so...big. It sickened him that everyone in camp seemed to be related to him, when he didn't even know his own father. His mother seemed to know him pretty well because she was just mysteriously pregnant again and gave birth to Fracturedkit. The small tom held back a growl before he exited the den and joined his kin in the camp. He didn't say anything, as usual, and he sat down next to his pure-white mother, Frostwhisper. The only form of greeting he gave was a few nods to Magpiewing, Fennelcloud, his sister Fracturedkit, and a rub of his muzzle on Frostwhisper's flank. He didn't bother to greet the other two kits, even though they were his great aunts or something like that. Any cat who was his great aunt or uncle and was younger than him was someone that Shatteredsoul didn't see as worth greeting. It was just plain weird.

"Hi!" Mosskit shouted to everyone who'd greeted her, though her eyes were still firmly on the firefly which kept flitting just out of her reach. She was going to ask Silverkit to help her catch it, but as she-kit went away to greet the rest of their family, she called out to her denmate, Fracturedkit instead. "Fracturedkit, help me get this firefly. It's too high up!" She meowed loudly, chasing after the glowing bug. Her attention was all on the bug, she didn't even bother trying to look before she ran. So unsurprisingly she ran smack bang into Shattersoul. "Oof!"

"Silverpelt is always beautiful at this time of night," the queen replied with a purr before her attention was caught by Frostwhisper and Shatteredsoul. She nodded at both of them, a little concerned for the tom. He was very quiet and a little curt with his expressions. "Greetings, you two!" she mewed until Mosskit rolled right into Shatteredsoul. "What did I tell you about being careful?"

Sandfire blinked and looked to her daughter and gave a tiny smile."hello Frostwhisper,hello Shatteredsoul " Shatteredsoul mewed in greeting .

Fracturedkit let out a squeak and blinked before watching her mother. She looked to her older brother and she scampered over to her older brother and mother.

Frostwhisper smiled at everyone who answered her in greeting, then wrapped her tail around Fracturedkit when she scampered over. "Hello, beautiful," she purred to her daughter as she smiled down at her. Frostwhisper was always a gentle she-cat. How did a murder like Shatteredsoul come out of her?

The family "reunion" had been going quite well, actually, for the first three seconds he had been there at least. That was until he felt a thump in his side and glared down at the thing which had hit him. A kit. Mosskit. Luckily for her, she was the granddaughter of the leader. Shatteredsoul couldn't tear apart the sweet little granddaughter of Thrushstar without getting torn apart in return. The tom subtly let his long, sharp claws slip out and he dug them into the dirt as he bent down close to Mosskit's face. The warrior then spoke in a voice so quiet and menacing that the others around Mosskit and him would have to strain their ears to hear it. "Listen to your mother, Mosskit. We wouldn't want you to get hurt, now would we?" He narrowed his eyes and dug them into her like icy blue daggers, then sheathed his claws and sat back up straight again. To have power you had to have respect, and to have respect, you had to have fear. Shatteredsoul didn't have time for little rats, besides his younger sister, to let get in his way. He was just doing what he had to do to survive.

Mosskit was about to meow out an apology when Shatteredsoul leant in close and whispered oh so menacingly at the little she-kit with his claws digging into the hard packed earth. The ginger kit's eyes opened wide, startled by him as she didn't expect that he'd be like this at all. Was bumping into someone that bad of a thing to do? "S- Sorry." She stuttered, fur naturally fluffing up out of fear, but a quick glance over at her mother had her calming down. "But you don't have to be so scary. It was an accident." She huffed, still spooked but fill with new determination at the knowledge her family was close. And from what she remember, Shatteredsoul was her family too. He wouldn't hurt her. Right?

Fracturedkit smiled a bit and mewed" hi momma " She mewed quietly as she looked up at her then her older brother.
