The Moon- sheds -light on a Dappled Eagle {Birth Topic}

Meadow awoke at midnight, painful spasms racking her body. She coughed, but that made the spasms more painful. Confused and frightened she yowled, the spasms becoming more painful by the second. "Orbit! Storm!" she screeched. What's happening?! She couldn't keep back more yowls. Soon her throat was hoarse, but the spasms continued. "Someone help!"

Meadow gulped in air, gasping as another spasm rippled along her flanks. Her ribs felt as if they would break. She let out another yowl. "Get--" *spasm* "Orbit and--" *spasm, gulp* "Storm. Tell them--" *gulp* "that--" *spasm, screech* "the kits--" *spasm, screech, gulp* "are coming...." She screeched again, taking in air with quick, shallow breaths.

OOC: Okay. Guys. You have to STOP! We are taking turns. STOP. I'm not kidding now.

IC:

Meadow gulped down the borage leaves, chervil, and the chamomile. They were all bitter, but the chamomile seemed to make her feel stronger. A lot stronger. I must be strong for my kits, she told herself.

She was comforted by the presence of Storm, but the pain didn't stop. Suddenly, a larger spasm racked her body, lasting longer than the others. This must be the first kit! She heaved as strongly as she could, the chamomile's magic not wearing off in the least bit. She heaved again, and again, and again, until all she needed was a little push. And there was the first kit (Moonlight). A beautiful tom.

The cream she-cat leaned over to grab him, but then jerked back as another spasm gripped her with icy claws. Meadow let out a yowl of pain, but nevertheless heaved and pushed. A second kit slid out (Eagle). She, again, wanted to grab the kit and lick her (sorry, I don't know which are toms and which are she-cats), but yet another spasm racked through her.

She went through the whole process over again, until the third kit (Dapple) was laying beside her hind legs. Meadow purred despite her exhaustion. She knew Storm, Flames, and Orbit would help lick the kits, so she rested her head on her paws and closed her eyes. She let out a deep sigh, slowing her breath. But Meadow didn't dare to fall asleep.

Meadow leaned forward and rasped her tongue gently over the first kit. "Hello, little kit." She looked up at Storm. "We should name this tom Eagle. See the markings on his fur? They remind me of an eagle." She purred, and nuzzled Eagle.
