A walk under the stars

Fawnpaw paced around the camp entrance hoping he would show, at Summitpaw's ceremony she had asked if he wanted to take a walk around the territory with her. It's time he knows how I feel. She had decided earlier that day, a small stone of unease had begun settling in her stomach since then. What if he doesn't feel the same? She shut her eyes tight and shook her head before sitting and wrapping her thick tail around her for comfort.

Summitpaw padded out of the camp entrance to meet Fawnpaw.

Fawnpaw purred, "Hey!" She wound her way around him and stood beside him, pelts barely brushing. "You ready?"

Summitpaw purred as she brushed up against him. "Yes I'm ready lets go!" He meowed excited that he was going Hunting with Fawnpaw.

Fawnpaw batted at Summitpaw's ear playfully, "Where would you like to go?" She asked, her green eyes turning silver in the moonlight that flitted through the leaves. She gave him a quick nuzzle before sighing and stepping away from him. Should I wait or tell him?

"Well maybe we could go to the river." The fiery orangish-yellow tom meowed.

"Let's hurry!" She mewed as she trotted ahead, eager to tell him how she felt.

Summitpaw purred and followed Fawnpaw. She was so beautiful and kind and the moonlight made her even more beautiful.

As they reached the river she motioned for him to sit beside her, she curled her tail around her paws and took a deep breath, gazing at the river that reflected the shimmering stars. "Summitpaw, I like you, well no." She shook her head and pinned her ears. How hard is it to tell him I love him?! She cowered a bit before sitting up tall. "I love you Summitpaw, I have for a while." She looked up the handsome tom, eager to hear his reply.

Summitpaw was surprised he was gonna tell Fawnpaw HE loved her but she beta him to it. "Fawnpaw I love you as well and I have ever since I met you." He purred and gave her ear a lick.

Fawnpaw let out a big sigh of relief and nuzzled into his shoulder, twining her tail with his.

Summitpaw purred and put his head on hers and looked out at the river. Tonight was so peaceful.

"It's lovely out tonight isn't it?" She mewed quietly before going quiet thinking about the possible future with her newfound mate.

"Yea but it's not as beautiful as you." Summitpaw purred and wound his tail over hers even more.

"Oh you big flirt!" She mewed playfully before giving him a gentle nudge, her eyes full of amusement.
