So this hurts? [For Bloom/Softsong]

It was dusk when Hawkstrike first felt the pangs within, an odd sensation like she really needed to go make some dirt, yet when she did, nothing happened. She paced the camp for a while, feeling uncomfortable lying down in any position. She hadn't been in the nursery for too long, having kept her pregnancy quiet for a while, but once her father found out, he essentially banished her into the nursery. After what happened to her mother, she guessed he was concerned she'd lose some of her litter. But considering how these ones were squirming within, she personally doubted any of them would be still born.

After a little while, when the moon rose to greet the stars, the little pangs became painful stabs. And it was then she knew for certain what on earth was going on. The kits were coming, and the looming threat of impending parenthood had come.

Crawling back the the nursery, Hawkstrike collapsed onto her side in her nest. The pain was tolerable, but not pleasant. It wasn't a sharp pain like a battle, more like an unending dull ache throughout her extremities that intensified in waves. Groaning, she clawed at the ground beneath her bedding to express her pain in some other form. She was starting to get why some queens used sticks to bite onto.

"C- Coalpaw! Frozenflame!" She called out once a contraction ebbed away, giving her a moment's reprieve. She needed them more than ever to get her through this ordeal.

Coalpaw ' s ears perked up upon hearing her sister call her name and then Frozenflame ' s name. Coalpaw quickly rushed to the herbs and grabbed a few Borage leaves needed and Chervil before rushing to the nursery with the herbs.

The yells could be heard from the warrior's den, where a multi-colored tom waited, amber eyes open. He had been told this was going to happen soon, from the medicine cats, so he had stayed up all night just incase it would happen. Frozenflame was ready. He had prepared ahead of time for this moment out of fear that some of their kits could die, or worse...Hawkstrike. He grabbed the pile of sticks next to his nest and darted into the nursery. "Don't worry, Hawkstrike. I know it's hard, but just focus on the task at hand. Forget about the pain and think about how beautiful the kits will be when this is all done." He dropped the pile of sticks and gave one for his mate to bite down on. "We'll get through this together." Frozenflame stayed calm and relaxed, hoping that it would show Hawkstrike that there was nothing to be afraid of.

Coalpaw set the herbs down just as soon as Frozenflame rushed in with sticks. She looked to him before rushing out quickly to soak some moss in some water before rushing back. The dark medicine cat apprentice set it down soon then nudged the chervil to her sister chew these  and swallow the juices it will ease some of the pain for your kitting she mewed.

Hawkstrike would have spoke, but the pain rolled through her again in waves. Quickly she gulped up the herbs that Coalpaw offered, nodding in thanks and leant her head against her mate. She bit down on the stick Frozenflame had brought, fighting through the pain.

She trusted her instincts, less concerned now than she was before with her beloved mate and her sister here to help her. When the urge came to push, she let herself do as her body willed, letting out a grunt of pain as she felt a kit pass through.

The cream tabby panted through the pain, still firmly biting onto the stick. She wanted a break after that, but her kits didn't seem to agree. Instead she was stuck, pushing again, and again. Kit after kit was born, until her last one.

"Frozenflame, I don't think I can do this." Sh gasped out, close to passing out in exhaustion. She'd just given birth to five kits, which was an unusually large litter, but the last one was proving to be tricky. She was running on fumes, having such a large litter made it hard for her to eat towards the end and so she had little to no energy.

OOC: There are six confirmed kits in this litter, Firekit, Flashkit, Swiftkit, Sweetkit, Ghostkit, Stormkit, but I don't fully know if Speckle is going to make one or not, so the last kit can be stillborn if she decides not to make one.

OOC: okay. I guess Stormkit will be the first born.

IC: A pale grey and cream she-cat meowed ferociously as she lay on the ground beside her mother. The unnamed first born kit was a loud one, crying out for comfort and security. The soon-to-be-named Stormkit wriggled and pushed past her siblings for her mother's milk. It was obvious that she was going to be a short-tempered and brave little thing, with a strong build and deep down, a soft heart.

Frozenflame smiled at the kits, but panicked as he realized there was one more. "Don't worry, Hawkstrike. Whatever you do, we do together." He showered her with licks and purrs, yet at the same time helped the newly born kits by pushing them towards their mother's milk. "Whatever happens to this last kit, just remember; it's not your choice weather it live's or dies, it's Starclans. If they want it to die, so be it! I won't see it as your fault, and I'll love you just the same, but stronger either way."

Coalpaw helped when each kit came out. The medicine cat apprentice cleaned each kit as she did she had asked Frozenflame to clean the last two while she finished cleaning them before nudging the kits to the curve of Hawkstrike ' s belly before she looked to her sister " Hawkstrike eat these "She mewed nudging the furry leaves,Borage leaves, towards her sister. Coalpaw then stood back watching the kits smiling some.

Finally, with one last push, she gave birth to the final kit. It was tinier that the rest, worryingly so. With her kitting over, she ate the leaves Coalpaw offered without complaint, too exhausted to really taste what she was eating. She looked over the six kits she'd just given birth to and couldn't help feeling awed by them. They were all little individuals with their own mew and fur colours.

There was her firstborn, the pale cream and grey kit, a reddish brown kit, black and cream, brown and ginger, light brown and white, and a white and grey kit. They all looked lively from their place on her belly, and she was sure they'd all make fine cats. But the youngest worried her, did she take too long to have her?

"Frozenflame, Coalpaw, these kits are beautiful. But how is the last kit? Is she fine?"


The reddish brown tom kit wiggled next to his siblings, his sister a black and cream calico pawing at him to stop. They were both confused about this new world with it's unfamiliar sights and sounds. But they took comfort in the scent of their mother and the rumblings of their father's purr.

Coalpaw blinked and padded over again and checked over the last kit. After a long moment she mewed"t he kit seems to be fine " Coalpaw mewed smiling some " and yes they are beautiful kits the dark she cat mewed.

Frozenflame smiled as he cleaned the kits. Once he was sure they had enough milk, he picked up one by the scruff. "Let's name them," he purred just before the sound of thunder came from outside and rain poured down; it was starting to storm. "This one shall be Stormkit," he said, referring to the one in his jaws. "Because it's storming outside." He sat the she-cat down and curled up around her. She somehow reminded him of Gentlebreeze, his dead sister and Coalfur, Duskfall's dead sister whom he was told about. It was an unexplainable feeling when he looked at Stormkit that reminded him or the dead she-cats.

Stormkit squirmed in her father's jaws and was relieved to be set down. She happily lay down by his side and enjoyed his warmth. The fell asleep, surrounded by her father for he was curled up around her. The she-cat felt protected and safe for the first time in her life.

Reassured by Coalpaw's words, Hawkstrike relaxed and let her kits feed as her mate cleaned them gently. She felt silly for having doubts, Frozenflame was being such an attentive father, and together these kits would be the most loved in Thunderclan. When he chose to name the firstborn, she listened, nodding in agreement to the name he chose.

"Well these two," she gestured to the next born, a reddish brown and black/cream calico. "I think I'll call Firekit and Shrikekit. His pelt reminds me of flames like your father's fur and your eyes. This she-kit, I don't know.mHer pelt reminds me of a shrike, black and cream."

OOC: Gotta name Sweetkit, Ghostkit, Flashkit and maybe Daisykit (speckle's kitty that she needs to get approved)

The light brown kit with a white underbelly and paws with a silver-grey stripe down her body wiggled closer to her mother searching for her mothers milk. The Tiny kit was smaller than the rest so it was hard for her to move around next to them. The soon to be named Flashkit mewled as she tried to suckle.

Frozenflame purred as his response to Hawkstrike's names. "What lovely choices." He noticed the smallest kit, one that looked like a mix of Frozenflame's grey pelt for the stripe, Duskfall's brown pelt for the main color, and the white in Silversong's silverish pelt for the other markings, was struggling. He nudged the kit closer to Hawkstrike to help it suckle better. "This one shall be Flashkit, for the flashes of lightning coming from the storm."

He then turned his gaze to a different she-cat. Frozenflame cocked his head to the side as he studied her. She had an odd pelt. The she-kit had brown tabby fur with patches of ginger tabby fur and a white underbelly and paws, obviously from Duskfall, Blazingheart, an Silversong. In his eyes, Frozenflame thought she was beautiful. He licked her head, breathing in her scent. It was sweet, reminding him of the scent of flowers which was coming into the nursery from outside. "This one is going to be Sweetkit, because of her sweet scent that reminds me of flowers."

OOC: Tell me if you want me to change the reason why your cat is named what it's named.

OOC: Ghostkit, Daisykit left. I'll do them.

"Two left." She commented, looking over at the two remaing kits, both white but with different coloured splotches. One had silver and the other ginger, but either way, they both looked adorable in her eyes. She gave them a lick of love, before considering their names. "This one I'll name Daisykit. Her delicate markings remind me of daisies in bloom."

The second one, she had to think about for a bit longer. He was a quiet one. "Ghostkit. I think, he's quiet as a dormouse, and pale as a Starclan cat. I think it suits him."

Looking over at her unusually large brood, seven kits in total, she purred soothingly. She prayed that all of them grew healthy and strong into fine warriors.

OOC: You just made Ghostkit sound 100 times more awesome than I ever did xD

~The newly named Ghostkit suckled next to it's siblings for a while before squirming away, bumping into the big furry mass that was their father. Letting out a small squeak the kit nudged up against Blazingheart again before curling up against him with a soft purr and falling instantly asleep.~
