Triangle of Love

Feverkit's heart dropped and he turned away, his stomach churning. WhatdoIdo,whatdoIdo?! He let out a soft, whimpering huff that he was sure only his ears could hear, but of course things could turn out differently. "Fr-frozenkit?" he asked softly, beckoning to her with his tail. "Can...can I talk to you....alone?"

Frozenkit smiled warmly at Feverkit, notecing that he was nervous or something. "Ok," she said as she stepped to the side, away from Mousepaw's range of hearing. She motioned with her tail for Feverkit to join her.

"Do...do you want to hang out with me sometime, (preferably when Mousepaw's out doing apprentice stuff)?" he whispered nervously, dropping his voice to a lower tone when he 'spoke in parenthesis'.

Frozenkit nodded. "That would be good, you know, some time alone," she said quietly.

Mousepaw stared at the two kits as they quietly talked. He wondered what they were saying. He sighed and looked down at his paws angrily. "Are you guys done?" He called.

Feverkit took some pride in the fact that he was annoying the older tom. Though that was easy to do, he liked getting the satisfaction of angering Mousepaw. He broke out of his thoughts, slowly turned over to Frozenkit, his heart aching when he realized there was really nothing more he had to bring up, right here and now. "Sure, I guess." Feverkit mewed, turning back toward the apprentice.

Frozenkit smiled at Feverkit, then at Mousepaw. She could sense tension between the two since they first met. Something hit the kit's shoulder. It seemed to have fallen from the sky. Frozenkit looked up at the grey sky, a raindrop falling into her eye as it slowly started to drizzle. "Uh, guys," She said, motioning to the rain. "I think it's starting to rain."

Mousepaw looked up at the dark sky. "Who cares?" He grumbled. "It's not like we're going to die if we get wet." As a couple raindrops hit him, the water seemed to cling to his fur and make him cold. He snuck a look at Feverkit to see if he was freaking out or something about the rain.

The tom closed his eyes and sucked in a deep breath of fresh rain-air. Feverkit smiled, leaning into the flow of rain. He had a feeling that someone was peeking at him. "I just love rain!" he meowed, sensing Mousepaw's intentions.

Frozenkit shivered as the rain came down harder. "It's a little cold, don't you think?" She personally hated the rain, but she could see that Mousepaw and Feverkit were enjoying it.

Mousepaw saw Frozenkit shivering and he immediately saw it as an opportunity to get closer to her and annoy the little rascal Feverkit. The tabby padded over to the she-cat and sat down, pressing against her to share his body warmth. Mousepaw curled his tail around her and licked her forehead. "Are you warmer?" He asked, taking a break from licking her head. He didn't look over at Feverkit, but keep his eyes trained on the she-kit.

Feverkit saw what the tom was trying to do, and would not allow his fur to spike up. "Here, now you can be even more cozy..." The kit trotted over to Frozenkit and cuddled into her unoccupied side.
