SkyClan's Next Deputy

Breezetail - no, Breezestar - had spent the entire journey back from highstones pondering on his choice of deputy. There hadn't been time to consider any of it earlier. He'd been able to get a small nap in between making his decision and by the time the sun had risen over the camp. Before the dawn patrols would be sorted and sent out, the leader appeared, ready to make his announcement.

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, join together here for a clan meeting!" He yowled.

ic: Rockfall ears twitched into a perk, lifting his head up from his paws as he glanced towards the Tall-Branch, It was Breezet- Breezestar? Tilting his head he got to his paws padding over towards the Tall-Branch. It must have been time to chose the deputy but who was going to be the deputy perhaps Creamstorm or Dustfang? or Lillyclaw, their we're many good warriors to become deputy, but Rockfall couldn't guess who it could be, he had to wait and see for himself.

A small white kit jumped out of the nursery at his leaders' call. He wanted to see a ceremony! He knew that his time to be an apprentice was out of his reach, he was only four moons old... But his excitement to see what went on within the clan sent him flying out to the Skyrock. Seeing how the other cats reacted though told him to calm down, which he quickly did as he sat politely, even though energy burst from his young paws.

Peaking out of their den, Featherheart and Nightfoot gathered quietly to where their new leader was. It was so hard to get over the fact that Silentstar had passed. Already, after only a short time of being in their new home, there was already a new generation of special roles leading the clan. Featherheart couldn't stand it. Every inch of her hated the other clans. Riverclan was okay, she guessed. They helped Skyclan, after all. She couldn't put her paw on Shadowclan, even though Thrushstar had made his point quite clear during the battle that the whole clan seemed to be a selfish bunch, only thinking of themselves. She really didn't know how much they could rely on Shadowclan.

Nightfoot felt just as cynical. It was difficult to try to think about being allies with any of the other clans, and with Riverclan's new leader as well, would that alliance hold strong? She didn't really think they could rely on anyone at this point. Nothing had changed since Skyclan moved back to where they supposedly belonged. They were still left on their own to do everything for themselves. They weren't even welcome into the forest.

No matter. Sitting down, the two she-cats waited to see what Breezestar had to say.

Creamstorm padded out of the warrior den after Featherheart and Nightfoot as she stared up at their new leader...Breezestar. Part of her wanted to scoff, who would of thought that he would be leader of this group, but the other part of her knew that he was the right choice. She sat down, her tail wrapping around her paws. Creamstorm was bitter toward the other Clans; they seemed to think that blood made them all so much better...In the end, it was still blood that was spilled, cats who had mates and families...Cats that WindClan and ThunderClan thought were nothing more than a band of killers. No, Breezestar would show them different, that they belonged. Breezestar and his deputy....Now who would the new leader pick for that spot?

Smokepaw let out a yawn as he left the apprentice den, before his eyes flickered up to his father. A small smile appeared on his face as he raced to join the rest to his Clanmates, sitting down as he perked his ear to listen to his father when he would announce the new deputy, It was great, to think that his father was leader...He just wondered who would be the deputy!

The gray tabby glanced around the clearing, looking at each of his clanmates as they settled down, waiting to hear his words. When all deemed ready, he took a deep breath and began. "It's been a long and difficult several moons," Breezestar began. "Even more so with the passing of Silentstar, who helped bring us here and taught of everything we know about clan life and what it meant to be a warrior." His blue gaze flickered up to the stars for a moment. They'd truly lost a lot these past few nights. "But I truly believe that we can grow stronger from this madness, so long as we stick together and look out for eachother, and always keep our heads up high. I know that our ancestors believe in us as well."
He let the words sink in for a few moments, reciting his next words carefully in his head. "Silentstar chose me to lead the clan, and now I will chose the cat who will lead on after me. It was no easy choice." Breezestar said before casting another look up to the sky one more time. "I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. Rockfall will be the new deputy of SkyClan."

There was a blink of surprise that past though Creamstorm as the new deputy was named. Rockfall? Her gaze flickered over to the tom, before a small smile forced its way on her face. She could see it...She was sure Breezestar had made the right choice. "Rockfall! Rockfall!" her voice raised in the normal call as she stared at the new deputy.

Smokepaw glanced at Rockfall, smiling as well. "Rockfall! Rockfall!" he joined in, his tail flicking excitedly. He didn't know much about the warrior, but if his dad thought Rockfall should be deputy, then Smokepaw agreed! His father and Rockfall would make the best leader and deputy duo ever!
