Water Delight

The tabby apprentice acknowledged the new warrior Streamheart with a dip of his head before turning back to the water bed.

Ripplepaw's fur was still damp from where he had previously fell in and often felt icy shivers down his spine, but when he spotted a bigger shape in the water he didn't mind gliding in (more gracefully this time) to catch it. Aha! I got you now! This was the fish from earlier, a large trout which soon had the apprentice clinging on to it as it thrashed about. Ripplepaw felt a scaly back fin slap across his muzzle,stunning him for a second. In that second the trout almost escaped, but the felines claws were firmly attached and the trout could only twist and roll. The muscular tabby was dunked under a few times, but after a good tassle with his future meal he managed to push it towards the shore, in hopes that someone would pin it down. "Ah, someone pin it down!" Ripplepaw yowled as opponent began to flop towards the cool liquid.

Streamheart nodded and pinned it down. The trout flopped around until it became still. "Ah, will Riverclan eat well tonight!" She said happily.

"It sure will," SnowFrost purred and turned back to the shore. She crouched down low and watched the water with her keen, blue eyes. As time passed by, she narrowed her eyes into slits and flicked her tail. A large fish soon came into sight and swam towards the silver she cat's direction. Using her powerful in her hind legs, she leaped into the water with her tail high in the air and her front legs touching the surface first. A fish moved in surprise and swam into the warrior's jaws. SnowFrost bit hard on it and used her powerful legs to swim gracefully with the currents to the shore. She padded out and dropped the fish a few feet away from it and covered it with reeds. The warrior glanced at the others to see if they made progress.

Streamheart smiled at the sight of her clanmates hunting well. "Yes, Riverclan might have a feast if the fish keep being so dumb and swim into our ready jaws." She laughed. The new warrior bit down on a fish she was chasing, and it flipped out of her jaws. It floated up, dead, and a white bird picked it up and flew away. "Well would you look at that!" She said.

Rainpaw leaped into the water and attempted to grab a fish. Her paws hit a rock and the fish swam away. Before she knew it, she was falling face-first toward the rushing current. "Ahh!" she shrieked in surprise before she was swallowing mouthfuls of water. Her eyes widened in panic and she pushed herself up from the water with her powerful but small hind legs. "I hope nobody was staring at me.." she muttered so only her ears, or so she thought, could hear. The she-cat pulled herself up onto the bank and looked down. "Oh, great. I look like a drowned rat!" she hissed to herself. Shaking her pelt off, the cat glared at the water, scooting away. "And before any of you ask, I am not a drypaw! I simply do not like having my head at the bottom of the river!" she spat quietly.
