BlackKit lifted his head and ran towards the Jagged Rock. His ceremony was sure to be here. He would be BlackPaw! He waited excitedly for his mentor and name.

As the kit ran towards the rock and stopped for the ceremony, Thrushstar continued speaking. "We gather tonight to make this kit an apprentice. Blackkit, from now on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Blackpaw. Your mentor shall be Cormorantpelt. I trust that she will teach you everything she knows." When he was done speaking, the Shadowclan leader gracefully jumped from the rock to let the rest of the clan celebrate the new apprentice.

BlackPaw smiled happily. He was an apprentice now. Soon he would be a warrior! He looked for CormorentPelt his mentor and waited. BlackPaw was so excited.
