Kit's Play (Open)

Mintkit sat near the nursery in the WindClan camp, waiting to see if anyone would play. "Maybe they're all too busy?" she wondered aloud to herself.

Heatherpaw was grooming herself when she heard a kit's voice. She padded over to see who it was and what they were doing. It was Mintkit. "Hello! I'm Heatherpaw! Were you wanting to play a game?" she called.

"Yes," Mintkit nodded. "Do you know any?"

"Well, there is a game called.. Hmm.." she thought for a moment. "Mossball? Or I could teach you some battle moves," Heatherpaw suggested.

"Alright," Mintkit agreed. "What moves do warriors use?"

"Lots of them!" she purred. Want me to show you one?" she asked.

"Yes, please!" Mintkit mewed cheerfully. "I want to learn everything!"

Heatherpaw laughed. "You'll learn when you get apprenticed." she purred. "Anyway, there's this move called Leap-and-Hold. You run at your opponent at full foce and slam into them. You try."

Mintkit raced at the apprentice, full-force, as instructed, before meeting a blockade. Futilely trying to pass it, she looked up. She had simply run into the apprentice.

"It's okay. Try again!" she purred and positioned herself lightly so the kit could have a good chance of making her wobble.

Mintkit raced forward, more determined than anything, and smacked into the older cat head-on. "Did I do it this time?"

"Yeah, you did! Good job!" she purred, getting off of the ground. "What other moves do you want to see?"

"Um... I heard someone mention a hunting crouch earlier," Mintkit mewed. "What's that?"

Heatherpaw nodded. "When you're stalking prey, you use this move. Watch me." she meowed. She crouched with her belly fur touching the ground and tail low, but not brushing the ground. She looked to make sure there were no twigs or leaves, and stalked forward. There was no sound from her paw-steps. "See that?" she asked, straightening up.

"That looks really difficult," Mintkit mewed. She crouched as much as she could, but being so tiny that wasn't very much. Her tail swished slowly from side to side, silent.
