Running on the Moor

The warrior soon came in pants for she was getting tired of the run. Without really paying attention to Owlpaw or any of her surroundings and pushed herself a little more to finally make it to the area. Once there Silverfang skidded to a halt and sat to catch her breath.

Owlpaw, sadly, was a few tail-lengths behind Silverfang when she came to a stop; meaning he had lost. He came to a stop not far behind, panting for breath but there was still a flicker of light in his eyes. "Well..." he gasped, his tail flicking. "I guess...You win, this time!" He sat down, shaking his head slightly as his heart started to slow down and his breathing started to return to normal. "But next time; I'm going...To beat you!"

Silverfang gave a smile in response to the apprentice, she wanted to speak but her breathing was to heavy at the moment for her to say something. Finally the warrior regained her breathe and was able to talk again. "We'll see.. if you do any better next time." The silver warrior said. She stood once again her pelt shimmering a little in the sun light. Slowly the warrior moved her nose about checking for any prey in the vicinity, "There's got to be something here.." Silverfang mewed hoping to find something.

Owlpaw's response was to stick his tongue out at the warrior, but he soon let out a small laugh. He turned and wandered off in his own direction, tasting the air for any sign of prey. Something caught his nose, and he grinned as he glanced at Silverfang. He opened his mouth, ready to tell her that he found prey...But he quickly decided against it. Maybe if he couldn't beat her in racing; maybe he could in hunting. He dropped into a crouch and pulled himself forward until he spotted a rabbit. He grinned as he moved forward some more, before he shook his rear. He could do this...Just had to stay focus. He let his paws push up and he launched himself into a jump. The rabbit spotted him and broke into a run; but it was to late. Owlpaw hit the ground right behind it and shot forward, his open claws meeting the rabbit. He quickly killed it, and smiled to himself...However, he knew that he wouldn't be that lucky. He just had to remember his training; not about the challenge that Silverfang didn't even know she was in.

Silverfang watched as Owlpaw moved off to find something. She gave a sigh and figured she should do the same. Quickly the warrior moved off closer towards the border when she caught scent of a bird. Carefully she crouched and crept up on the bird. With careful timing the warrior lept on the bird and killed it in a swift blow.

"Whats going on here?" Graypaw asked

Heatherpaw ran across the moor toward the group of cats. "Did *pant pant* I miss *pant pant* anything?" she huffed, trying to catch her breath. "Are you guys hunting?" she asked after she restored her breath.
