Playing Around

Owlpaw was laying in the middle of the WindClan camp, letting his fur soak up all of the sun. He was on his back, his paws outstretched as his tail-flickered. However, his ear soon flickered and he rolled onto his back, letting his gaze drag across the clearing. He was bored. His mentor was busy so he couldn't go out and train so what was he going to do....He answered his own question when his gaze landed on the nursery. Why of course! He could play with some kits! Pulling himself to his paws, Owlpaw headed to the nursery and poked his head in. "Hello?" he called out as he pulled himself in, wondering if any kits would be up to playing around.

Asterkit was bored. Bored bored bored. The problem was she couldn't actually put the feeling into the proper words; which made for a very frustrating morning. She didn't know why she was feeling so...off. Why suddenly lying on her back on the bed of rabbit's ear moss and feathers wasn't as enjoyable as it usually was. Why, for lack of a better activity, she found herself lying at her back kicking her feet up in the air, pedaling her paws up at the sky as if she expected to take off into it at any moment.

Her ears twitched in the direction of a strange voice. There was a lot of voices she did recognize in Windclan - but this one, she was positive she hadn't heard before. At least, not in here. Probably she had heard it blending with some of the other voices outside in the camp during a gathering. In any case, they sounded interesting. She rolled over onto her side, sitting up and shaking her head in order to dislodge bits of feather that stuck to her fur.

"Who'er you?" She asked, tilting her head as if a different point of view would help her better recognize them. "And what'er you up to? You're not planning to raid the nursery, are you?" She asked, feeling sudden excitement bubbling up in her belly with that idea. "'Cause you better not be. Else you're in big trouble." They would, after all, have to go through her.

Graykit walked out of the nursery as he heard a voice. He wanted to play something because he was bored and hyper.

Hearing a few steps now coming from behind her, Asterkit was certain she was stuck in some sort of ambush - until she turned to find that the newly approaching cat was one of her fellow kits. Her tail twitched excitedly. "Hey! I think this guy's tryin' ta sneak into the Nursery. He must be up to something." Torn between keeping her eyes on the slightly bigger cat and gaining the belief of her current denmate, she turned back and forth between them, surely heading for a great crick in her neck afterwards.

"He must be up to something shifty....Doesn't look like he brought anything with him, like food. So that must mean they're hear for some other reason! Whatchu think?"

"Hey." Graykit said to her. "Wanna play something?" He asked

Now she was torn; what exactly was she to do? Asterkit thought it best to keep her eye on this new, somewhat suspicious interloper who didn't come baring any gifts like new, really soft moss - and therefore had to be up to something - and a trick for curing her boredom by a good romp with one of her Nursery-mates. Never had the young she-kit faced such a troubling dilemma - as she wondered what a true future-warrior would do. What would her mother do?

"I dunno..." She hesitated, wilting ever so slightly. Every muscle in her body wanted to bound away and play, but still. She was caught between a rock and a hard place, and found herself to be horrible at making decisions. "Don't you think we could - we should - " She jerked forwards a bit, as if pointing out the interloper, as if expecting Greykit didn't see them. "Keep our eyes on him. What if he's here to steal somethin'?"

Graykit waited for an answer

Still suspicious of the older warrior, Asterkit was still confident in her abilities to keep watch over the nursery, while having some fun. Or rather, she was more drawn into the idea of having fun than keeping watch. Her mind and curiosity was very easily satisfied.

"Alright, I suppose..." She added. "So long as this one doesn't do anything fishy. "

Heatherkit was bored and she was half-awake next to Ivyleaf. 'Nothing to do!' the golden kit thought drowsily. Suddenly, Heatherkit's ears perked up. She'd heard a voice. 'Maybe that would mean something to do!' she stretched and stood up. Asterkit and another kit were standing next to the entrance of the den. She had heard one of them say something about playing. She was up for a good game! "Can I play?" Heatherkit asked.

While a part of her still wanted to keep watch over the stranger and make sure they didn't do anything bad in the nursery, Asterkit's resolve was slowly being turned away with the promise of playing around. Especially when Heatherkit came bounding over. "Well, okay. We want to play something....but we also gotta be careful about him." She not-quite whispered, jabbing her tail in the direction of the older cat. "I think he's up to something."

"I agree. Well, we could play something in the entrance of the den, like... mossball, maybe." Heatherkit whispered. "Somebody stays here to guard while someone else runs and gets the ball of moss."

Ugh...they always played mossball! Not that she was too put out by it - it was one of the best games they could play. But why couldn't they try something a little different like...like Windclan versus all the other clans, or hunt-the-prey? There were other games.

But Heatherkit had a point...playing mossball at the entrance would allow them extra room to hit the ball and plenty of time to watch the intruder, too. "I suppose I can go get it. Some 'prentice just brought us a brand new big ball of moss just last night. I think it's supposed to be bedding but it's extra soft - I bet it'll bounce really high!"

Heatherkit nodded and positioned herself by the entrance.

"Get Ready, Heatherkit!" She purred, the ball freshly gathered in her paws - and without much more warning she batted it hard across the ground. It indeed bounced pretty high - and seemed to disappear around the roof.

"Um...where'd it go?" She mewed, confused.

Heatherkit looked around. After a moment, she got bored of looking. She shrugged, and something plopped on her head. "Oof!" she huffed. "Okay.. here's the moss!" she meowed.
