Raiders! [Site Event]

Snow crunched under Bracken's paws as he padded towards the edge of the ravine. No sentries. The cold had made them reluctant to set watch, clearly, or else some warriors were dodging their duties. Good... They're unaware of what's about to happen. Good.

"Remember the plan." he growled. "Take the prey, destroy the herbs, and slaughter the kits and any cats that try to stop us. We go in there, do what we're supposed to do, and run right back out. Got it?"

The cats behind him nodded. Some looked solemn, others eager for blood. Bracken purred. "Right. Attack!"

The rogues poured over the side of the ravine and burst through the camp entrance yowling. Dawson peeled off and sprinted towards the medicine den while Oriole and Catkin snatched plump mice from the freshkill pile. The others went for the cats of ThunderClan.

Sparrow slunk through the nursery entrance with a disarming purr. "Now, now, kitties. This will hurt just a pinch."

IC: Spottedfeather snapped her eyes open, hearing the sound of strange cats busting into camp. She didn't know who it was, but she had to get out there. She ran past the bodies of waking Thunderclan cats. She quickly shouted as soon as she smelled their scent. "Rouges!" before she shouted for Dewstar, who was already probably awake. "Dewstar!" she yowled before taking in the cats swarming in. Two grabbed some food, one went to the medicine den, while another went to the nursery. 'The kits!' She ran at the cat before charging into him and knocking him in his back legs, which were still sticking out of the nursery. She hoped another cat would deal with him get or help at the medicine den. It was easier to get back food than it was to get back herbs. She quickly poked her head in the nursery and quickly saying to the kits. "Quick, hide in your moss or something, I will protect you."

Breeezepaw lay under the weak sin, attempting to absorb ghe little heat. The camp was peacefully silent until.....

A yowl split the air like lithtning and the calico she cat shot her head up, freen eye wide, as tons of rogue cats poured inti camp like a wave. Without thinking, her natural instincts to protect the nursery kicked in and she pelted towards the den of kits where a brown tom was being attacked by Spottedfeather. Breezepaw stood square in the entrance to block any other attackers going into the nersury.

As soon as the racket in the camp started, Mousepaw jumped awake. She had already kind of been awake beforehand since other apprentices seemed to be moving around, but she had dozed off again until the raid had started. Instantly running into the clearing to see what was going on, she froze solid as she saw the strange cats bombard into the camp. Who were these strange cats? Almost instantly, she noticed some taking the food and others heading towards the medicine den, and the last flash she saw was Spottedfeather running towards the nursery to slam into a brown tabby who was pushing his way into the den. At first, Mousepaw knew that she had to do something, but then it dawned on her. She had no idea how to fight. She hadn't been taught that in training yet, so what could she do now? She knew how to use her claws, but with her size, there really wasn't much she could do. Heck, she probably just looked like a helpless kit who had wandered out of the nursery. So, instead, she darted back into the apprentice's den to get everyone else. "Splotchpaw, Adderpaw, Rookpaw, everyone! We're being attacked!" she shouted over the craziness going on outside. Even though she didn't know how to fight, she knew that there were others who did and who could help. She didn't want them in trouble, however, so her next move was running to the warrior's den to at least get her mentor Specklefur. She would know what to do.

Spottedflight's head shot up as she woke from a dream, only to find the sounds had carried into reality.  Faintly, she heard Spottedfeather yowl "rouges!"  She was out of the den in a moment, and took in the situation quickly.  There were strange cats all around, but one cat in particular caught her eye.  Oh no you don't she thought, tearing across the camp towards Dawson.  In a single bound, she was on top of the black she-cat, pinning her down and digging her claws in, slashing for the weakest points she could reach.

Meanwhile, Flamepaw heard the scrambling outside his den, but was slow to rise.  "What's all the-" his eyes grew wide as he caught the rouge's scent.  One pair in particular caught his eye, seeing them running off with food.  "Hey, I worked hard to catch that!" he yowled, sprinting after them.  He barreled into the tortoiseshell,slamming her back legs with his full force and knocking her down.

DawnKit did as SpottedFeather said. eyes wide with fright. DawnKit hid in the damp moss listening to the sounds of claws and teeth clashing together and cats yowling in pain and anger. DawnKit peeked out of the moss and saw cats everywhere, some attacking her clanmates, others stealing food and herbs from the medicine den. DawnKit shot back under the moss as she saw a big, black cat look her way. As she sat there shivering with fright, she tried to block out the sounds of dying cats.

Rainspot was rudely awakened from her slumber by the sudden screeches of the band of rouges. Scrabbling out of her nest, she snarled at the horde of cats dashing about her camp. Crouching, she bunched her legs, locking her brown gaze upon a reddish rouge, known as Nettles by his comrades. Launching into the air, she gave an excellent example of a Jumping Strike. Her dark front paws crashed into his side, knocking the unlucky tom over.

Jumping Strike dealed 20 damage to Nettles.

Adderpaw leaped out of the den just behind Flamepaw. He let out a furious hiss. "Oh no way. Eat your own dirt, you heartless fleabags!" The tom snarled, leaping towards the nearest cat who wasn't looking his way--a golden tom--and rammed into him, sending him flying backwards.

Adderpaw used Run and Tackle on Apollo, dealing 20 points of damage(+5; unfocused on Adderpaw) and using up 10 points of stamina.

Ruby- no, Sunpaw- awoke with a terrible sense of fear clouding her. She sped from the den, heading straight for Swiftpaw's den. She'd never learned how to fight and was useless. She was halfway across the camp when a furious screech echoed through the camp and Dewstar sprinted from her den, jumping right over the apprentice and disappearing into the throng of fighting cats. Sunpaw stared, stunned, before fleeing away towards the medicine cat den, casting a single fearful glance back at Adderpaw.

"Stay out! Don't come any closer!" Swiftpaw's hackles were raised and his fur was fluffed. He stood over the body of Nightpaw, shielding him from a fierce looking black she-cat. Seemingly out of nowhere, Spottedflight jumped on the raider's back and began to claw furiously, and without hesitation, Swiftpaw joined in too. He didn't normally fight, but he had an injured apprentice and a dangerously low stock of herbs to protect.

Swiftpaw used Front Paw Strike on Dawson, dealing 14 damage and using 10 stamina.

Dewstar hardly saw Sunpaw, leaving her in the dust and running straight for the brown tom who seemed to have initiated the battle. Fury filled her, and she barreled into him with as much force as she could muster. She gripped his scruff in her jaws and flung him side to side with such force that she could have ripped his very fur off.

Dewstar used Scruff Shake on Bracken, dealing 18 damage and using 25 stamina. In effect for 2 turns.

Chaos spread through camp quickly, awakening Splotchpaw from her quiet slumber. The yowls and spits sent the apprentice onto natural instinct mode. Her blue eyes snapped towards a ginger she-cat with yellow eyes. Without much hesitation, the apprentice burst forward and tackled the cat known as Peach. Smiling to herself as she realized that the other cat had not been focusing on her. The partially white apprentice then leaped away from the rouge, creating a distance between the two.

Splotchpaw used Run-and-Tackle. Using 10 stamina and dealing 15 damage. +5 damage, Peach was not focused on Splotchpaw.

Specklefur burst from her den, letting out a loud yowl towards the rogues, her teeth bared as her eyes scanned the clearing, resting on a black tom with white paws, along with prominent green eyes. Quickly Specklefur lurched forwards. "Die you filthy carrion!" She screeched, bashing her large and bulky form directly into the tom.

Specklefur used Run -and- Tackle using 10 stamina and dealing 16 damage +5, Crow was not focused on Specklefur.

Sparrow only huffed as he was propelled forward by the sudden force, tumbling end over end and into the spiky bramble wall that the nursery was built into. "Argh!" he hissed as he pulled himself to his paws and set his eyes first on one of the kits crawling under the moss nest and then on his assailant and the younger cat behind her blocking the entrance. "You're crowfood."

With that, he leapt at the warrior standing in the entrance and bowled into her.

Dawson was peeking into the medicine den, prepared to shred the cats crammed inside hidden, when a sudden weight flattened her and claws dug into her back. "Ack! Get off me!" she snapped, struggling to wriggle out from under the warrior. "I'll kill you! Get off!" She hissed again, both in anger and pain, as one of the little cowards in the den bolted out and began to claw at her too.

Dawson cannot move.

Oriole had begun to bound off towards the entrance with her catch, weaving in between pairs of fighting cats when a voice caught her attention. The she-cat turned her head just in time to see an orange tom pounding towards her.

The impact made her bite hard into the mouse, filling her mouth with the taste of blood. Sand and dust kicked up all around her as she slid across the clearing. Oriole spit the mouse out and glared at the apprentice, tail lashing. With a loud cry, the rogue charged and smashed into the smaller cat, throwing her weight into the tackle.

One moment Nettles was looking around nervously for an opponent, the next he was on the ground, immersed in a cloud of dust and all the wind knocked out of him. He slowly rose to his paws and looked up at the she-cat who had sent him flying. "Agh... Not so rough, now." he quipped, trying to ignore the incredible pain in his side as he recovered his breath. Gods, how do you even hit somebody that hard? Nettles remembered the other muscly cats back at Twolegplace and shook his head to try and get a hold back on his jarred senses.

Nettles was more of a hunter than a fighter, in truth, but he was a survivor. If jokes would let him see another day then he would joke all day long. For gods' sake, he'd take the warrior out on dates and catch her prey for her if it meant survival. The tom danced forward and unsheathed his claws. "So, uh, no hard feelings, right?" Before she could respond, he swiped a paw across her nose and jumped back.

Apollo flattened his ears in dismay as he saw poor Dawson get flattened by the medicine den as the ThunderClan cats engaged. These cats certainly can fight. he realized, unsheathing his claws and looking around wildly. I won't let them surprise me.

That was, until he was distracted by the sight of Oriole getting thrown halfway across the clearing. As he watched, a sudden force hit him and Apollo tumbled head over tail with a loud 'oof.' The rogue scrambled to his paws and growled at the apprentice. "Crawl away while you can, runt." he hissed as he smashed a heavy golden paw across his opponent's jaw.

Bracken presided over the battle field, growling in disapproval as the battle was met. "You fight like kits! Whip them into next moon! Come on, do you want your kits to eat carrion tonight?!"

His gaze switched from Apollo being flung back to Dewstar, just in time to see her ram into him. He flew to the ground and hardly had enough time to register what had happened when teeth clamped shut around his scruff and he was tossed through the air a second time. Bracken laid there, dazed, with the earth spinning beneath him.

Peach's heart was pounding as the group poured into camp. Just take the prey. she reminded herself. Take it and run out, and do it again and again until it's all gone. That was a simple enough task, and it meant she didn't have to fight anyone. The rogue began to run after Oriole and Catkin when an intense pain filled her and she was knocked to the ground. Peach pulled herself to her paws and looked at the patched she-cat not a fox-length away from her.

She can't be much older than me... she told herself. I can handle her. The she-cat took a deep gulp of air and leapt at the apprentice before her cowardice caught up to her, barreling into her and digging her claws wherever she could until she felt blood well up between her toes.

Crow was striding to Dawson's rescue when he was toppled off his paws and spilled to the ground. "Ugh!" Crow said as he lurched back up. He spit blood in Specklefur's face. Foxheart made me bite my tongue. "You lookin' to die, Thundercat?" he growled before slashing his paws across her nose.

Breezepaw collapsed under the weight of the large rogue but she did her best to scratch at his ears and succesfully ripping one. Blood spat in her face, declrating her white stripe with polka dots. The wond escaped her but she managed to let out a large screech, a call for help.
