Redkit and Maplekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ooc: I apologize for the delay. I've had little time to do stuff. Also, once this is finished, join the mass patrols, then we can get started with those.

Ic: With the moon rising in the darkening night sky, it was due time for some certain kits be made apprentices. On that thought, Nightstar slipped out of her den and into the crisp and cold night air. Leafbare has definitely arrived, and the cool night air was not even the only clue. The amount of prey has dwindled in the freshkill pile. Every day there was less and less of the fresh-kill. And cats who know of the hash Leafbare are well aware of the coming scarcity. So, in an attempt to battle the inevitable, the leader of ShadowClan wanted to get the newest apprentices as soon as possible.

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here beneath the Jagged rock for a clan meeting!"

Maplekit padded out, surprisingly faster than her brother. She padded underneath the Jagged rock, looking to her already clean pelt. She had long fur, so she had to keep it clean already. "You coming Redkit?" she asked her brother, who was still in the nursery.

Redkit rolled his eyes. "Yeah, give me a moment." He called back to his sister, stretching and shaking out his fur. Who cares if he was 'fashionably late'? He had been busy getting a spur out of his fur, and now he was reading to go out there. The tom padded outside, head high and chest out as usual.

The bright blue eyes of the clan's leader were able to pick out the tiny pelts of the newest apprentices. And as she said these words, began an age-old ceremony. "Redkit, Maplekit. Please step forward."

Maplekit stepped closer to the Jagged rock. Her eyes shined bright as she waited.

Redkit took a step up beside his sister, then with a mischievous glint in his eyes he made sure he was one paw in front of her.

Ooc: Lul >:3

Ooc- Yes we can. My computer is super slow these days, to it is causing me a whole lotta trouble and annoyance. Bare with me, friends. This major annoyance shall end Christmas time. 8D

Ic- Nightstar waited a few moments, so that the clan could get a new look at the kittens climbing up the clan latter. Inhaling a breath, she continued. "Redkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Redpaw. Your mentor will be Thrushstripe. I hope Thrushstripe will pass down all he knows on to you." Moving on to the newest apprentice's sibling, the leader went on.

"Maplekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Maplepaw. Your mentor will be Gingerheart. I hope Gingerheart will pass down all she knows on to you."

Turning to the two warriors who had been chosen to be mentors, Nightstar nodded to them, each in their turn. "Thrushstripe, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Gingerheart, and you have shown yourself to be intelligent and a quick thinker. You will be the mentor of Red, and I expect you to pass on all you know to him."

"Gingerheart, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Feathersong, and you have shown yourself to be loyal and responsible. You will be the mentor of Maplepaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to her."

With a wave of her tail, she finished the ceremony, leaving the mentors to greet their newest apprentices.

Ooc- Remember to post in the mass patrols so we can get started. D;

Ooc: But...they're old D: They started before Red and Maple were even born.

Ic: Redpaw stepped over to touch noses with Thruststripe, then backed away. "Can we start training now?" He asked excitedly.

Ooc- Too bad. D8<

Maplepaw jumped after her brother, quickly veering of his path as she padded to a beautiful cat. She already knew who she was, plus she could guess with the ginger fur. She just realized, they looked very alike. Ignoring that though she spoke to her mentor. "Hi" she mewed quietly before touching noses with her.
