Mass ShadowClan Apprentice Training: Battle/Hunting Practice

Nightstar had situated herself near the entrance of camp, ready to start out another day's training. Her paws positioned neatly in front of her. Her calm demeanor depicted that she was thinking carefully about what is to happen next. Of course, they would practice battle and hunting. But in what order?

Perhaps we are soon to find out~

Silverpaw bounded over to Nightstar. "Hey, Nightstar! Are we doing today?" she asked. Normally she was more calm, but today she was excited for training.

Shadepaw padded slowly behind her. "Hey Nightstar," he mewed. He turned to Silverpaw sleepily. "I think we're doing hunting today. But I'm tired," he grumbled. "I can barely keep myself upright!"

Lionpaw bounced in after him. "Yay!" he cried. "Hunting! My first hunting patrol, too! Can't wait!"

Silverpaw looked confused. "Why is it that you two are brothers, yet you act like the opposite of each other?"

Bramblepaw padded over ready the the days training.

Silverpaw dipped her head to Bramblepaw. "Hi, Bramblepaw."

"Hey silverpaw"Bramblepaw mewed.

"Are we doing first, Nightstar?" Silverpaw asked.

And then Redpaw appeared, causing a time-paradox that no one gives a f*ck about.

Maplekit followed after her brother. Looking around slightly.

Ooc- Because we have scrapped the hunting system, just forget about the hunting part. Of a new apprentice is made, just join in on the topic. xD

Nightstar pleasantly watched the apprentices gather around her. She was glad that the cats had gotten a full night's rest, for the reason of, that this part of their training was taxing. ShadowClan is known for their battle skills, and cats aren't born with those. Many great fighters of the clan had to train constantly to be in tip-top shape. ShadowClan had to stay on its toes when it comes to battling if the clan was to survive.

Finding the group large enough, the leader rose to her paws, then scanned the group as she spoke. "Today, as I told you last night, is battle training. I hope you all got something to eat, because by the time we are done, you will be very exhausted." Nightstar turned slowly towards the exit, beckoning for the apprentices to follow after her.

As soon as the group had completely exited the tunnel, Nightstar broke into a run. She didn't look back, expecting the apprentice to be able to keep up with her. If not, that was their fault for not training. It wasn't a great method, however these apprentice's lives were in their own paws. If they lacked in speed, then they should work on that. If they lacked endurance, that was another thing to work on.

They soon arrived at a higher point of ground, here, there were no puddles to watch out for. Only a think amount of grass, and a familiar old rotting tree she had first hunted around when she was an apprentice. A few thin branches had fallen off since, but it was fairly sturdy. Nightstar leaped onto the lowest branch, which was a tail langth above her. She wasn't much of a climber herself, but she needed a place to view the apprentices practicing.

Without giving them a chance to get settled, Nightstar continued. "Now you will all need a sparring partner. Silverpaw will be with Shadepaw. Lionpaw will be with Maplepaw. Then Bramblepaw will be partnered with Redpaw." After announcing the partners, she let them get together in their mini groups. However, the leader did not give them any time to talk.

"The first move you will will learn about, is the Killing Bite. This move is shameful, and against the Warrior Code. I will only allow such an attack for cats outside of our clans." A icy glare made sure that no cat was to argue with her. After she was sure she had scared the apprentices, Nightstar continued with the lesson. "The first move that you will practice is the Front Paw Strike. This is where you lunge at your opponent with unsheathed claws. Like this." Suddenly, the leader lashed out at the bark of the tree next to her. Scoring the trunk with her ivory claws. As soon as she finished demonstrating it with the tree, Nightstar spoke one last time before letting them practice on the moves.

"You may practice that, but keep your claws to yourselves!"

Shadepaw shrugged then turned towards Silverpaw. "You ready, Silverpaw?" he asked. "You wanna go first? Or should I?" He sat on the ground and waited patiently for Silverpaw.

Lionpaw nodded. "Okay, then Bramblepaw. Let's do this! I'm gonna beat you!"

Ic: Redpaw blinked, listening closely. The Killing Bite meant death to the opponent. Why was it against the warrior code, anyways? The less opponents that were alive, the better the odds of winning, right? He didn't argue though, and instead leaped around to face Bramblepaw. "We may be training with sheathed claws, but I won't go easy!" He snarled with a grin.

Silverpaw growled softly at Shadepaw. "You bet I'm ready!" She swiped her front paws at the air to prove her point.

Nightstar leaped to the ground as gracefully as possible, because ShadowClan wasn't made for climbing trees, she had hardly learned how to climb when she was younger.

The leader glanced at the apprentice, obviously amused at the fact that they were ready to fight, having only known three moves. And only two of them were useable. Taking a few long strides so she would catch their attention, the she-cat continued. " Let me finish explaining the other moves, so you cats may have a mock battle." An idea appeared in her mind. As best and fast as she could, Nightstar explained the moves that are in the repertoire for apprentices. Also explaining a few of the downsides to some moves.

As soon as she finished, Nightstar leaped back up into the tree and looked down on the apprentices. "I am going to split you into two teams, the team on the left and team on the right. Shadepaw. Silverpaw, and Bramblepaw you are Team Left. Go to my left. Lionpaw, Redpaw and Maplepaw, you are Team Right, go to my right." Nightstar looked over the two groups, then nodded in approval. "I'll give you a few moments to plan, then you can attack once I say go." The leader waited patiently for the apprentices to finish chattering among themselves. {Go ahead and PM your teammates and come up with a strategy~}

"Go!"

{This will be a mock battle, using your HP and stamina points. In the Rp, claws are in. The first team to lose two apprentices loses.}

      Dear Person who may or may not know how to use the battle system,

This OOC letter is for those who don't know how to use the battle system. If you do, you can stop reading here and poof away into your interwebish life, thinking about your next post. 8D If you don't, do not fret! I am here to explain this wondrous system.

Here is an explanation.

I am going to explain the fighting system. If you need, I am link you to a battle. Here is how it works:

Each rank has different stats. HP and stamina like you apprentices, you have;

Apprentice: 20(HP)
80(Stamina)

Usually it looks something like this:

Randompaw
20/80

Now, Randompaw here is fighting, let's say another apprentice. Randompaw has to pick a move from here. So let's say he decided to use Front Paw Strike on the other apprentice. Let's call her, Pawpaw. (Just for the heck of it.)

SO Randompaw would have to look at the stats of each move, for his situation, the amount of stamina it takes is 10 units. So with his 80 stamina, he takes away 10 to get 70.

80-10=70 units of stamina.

Now for the health, Randompaw has to go down to the smaller chart, and find his rank and his move. Once he finds it, Front Paw Strike deals 6 damage, taking 6 away from Pawpaw's Health Points.

20-6=14 Health Points left for Pawpaw.

So, once the math is done, Randompaw types out his Rp paragraph. Once he is done, this is what is should look like:

Randompaw used Front Paw Strike on Pawpaw. Dealing 6 damage and taking 10 units of stamina.

(Now, it is common curtsy to keep track of your opponent's stats. It makes life much better for the rest of us, and it only takes up a few seconds of your time. Here is a prime example.)
