Rainpaws assessment

"Come on Rainpaw, time for your assessment" Spottedfeather called to the almost fully grown apprentice. Wow, it sure had been a while since she had first gotten the little apprentice. Now she was way bigger. 'Almost a warrior' she thought to herself.

Rainpaw bounded toward her mentor, a wide grin plastered on her face. All she could think of to say was,"When can I start?" Her fluffy tail swished back and forth with impatience and excitement. She just couldn't wait to start!

"Now. But remember, catch as many prey as you can before Sunhigh. I will be watching, you wont see me though. Be careful, I know you will do great. Now go." she smiled and waited for the apprentice to bound out of camp.

OOC: You can choose when you want to end it. And just post over and over. I wont have to post until you want the assessment over. Then I will say its sunhigh. K?

Ooc-I'll stop at 3 pieces of prey

Ic- Giving a nod to Spottedfeather, she ran out of camp into the forest. After a heartbeat, she stopped to sniff for prey. Aha. Creeping around a bush, Rainpaw sniffed deeper. A mouse. Breathing slowly, she stalked the rodent. At the time she thought right, she leapt in a high arch, landing perfectly on top of the mouse; which lay dead under her.

Smiling, she quickly brushed dirt off both her and her prey. Before searching again for prey, the grey tabby buried her catch between two roots of a tree. The call of a cocky raven told Rainpaw what would become the Clan's next meal. Following the screeching voice, she saw the bird perched on top of a bramble bush- the same bush, she noticed with amusement, where she had become ensnared in on her first day. Crouching on the fallen tree(which was mostly rotten by now) she leaped for it. Like I said before, this tree was rotten. So when the apprentice tried to put even more pressure on it, the trunk collapsed. This unbalanced her, and with not as much power as she had wanted, she landed in the bush again.
Instead of crying for help like before, she simply laughed a long laugh. The bird had flown away and called already anyways. Pulling herself out of the bush, she saw her fur from the last ensnarement. Rainpaw laughed again. She had been so small back then..

Ignoring the sting of the thorns, she searched yet again. Tasting the air, she located a squirrel nibbling on an acorn. Creeping ever so close, she bounded over her prey yet again. After struggling for a moment with the large, fluffy creature, she killed it and buried it with her mouse.

'Just one more', Rainpaw whispered. Using all sight, smell, and sound to locate her last piece of prey, she found the raven from before. 'Wow. That bird is stupid.' This time it was pecking at the roots of a tree. Focusing closely on the avian , she crept close and pounced. Maybe she focused a little too closely, because she slipped on a wet leaf and crashed headfirst into the tree. 'Ow. Maybe I'm the stupid one here.'

Shaking her head, she scolded herself. 'It knows you're here. It just wants to taunt you.' Lifting her head again, she smelled the draft that wafted towards her. Another mouse. Following the scent, she found the rodent sniffing for berries. Hopefully it couldn't smell her. Sneaking up on it yet again, she leaped. The mouse sensed her presence anyways, and took off before she even left the ground. Giving a short growl, she went somewhere else to find prey.

Attempting to catch her last piece, she found a thrush pecking among twigs. Crouching, she crept up slowly, then pounced at the exact moment that was right. Except that it wasn't. She missed yet again. Now she was getting a little ticked off. Growling, she set out again.
