Mapleface had a horrible dream.

It was dark. Very dark. However, that didn't seem too bother her. She padded on, head held high like always, in a straight line. Her paws seemed to carry her on forever. Nothing stood in her way; the ground felt perfectly smooth and endless. A growl behind her made her spin, yet she still saw nothing. Mapleface was totally blind. She could, however, feel a hot breath billowing in her face. She started to back up, as the breath was rather odd in this empty abyss. Pain seared through her face as unseen teeth tore through her flesh. She screached, but blood filled her mouth and choked her. The enemy tore back, and with it she could feel half of her face being ripped away with it.

She woke up withering in her nest.
