Boom Baayaah [Open to RC/TC]

There was nothing like the smell of water. It was a subtle scent that had been his constant companion ever since he'd been born. The smell of the moist moss the apprentices would bring his nursing mother, the scent of the dirt after it rained, and the smell of prey taken off the pile after a storm. It had followed him everywhere, but it wasn't until that moment when he snuck away from camp to gaze upon the vast, fast-flowing waters that he knew what he'd been yearning for all this time.

It was no brainer that RiverClan cats were meant for the River, but to think he'd felt incomplete without gazing upon the crystal waters. It was something that he didn't expect. The sharp, clean scent cut through all the nonsense, much like his mother, Fishstar. This was where he belonged.

Fortunately for his safety, Frogkit wasn't stupid enough to try enter the swift-moving waters. He knew he was far too small, and his kitten coat wouldn't help him out in anyway. But he still managed to wrestle a place on a rock that jutted out over the River. "Ah." He sighed, curling up to bask in the sounds of rushing waters and the weak warmth of the Leaf-fall sun.

This was the life.


ooc;; basically, the rock will destabilise when some kit/apprentice or two join him up there. They'll all fall in and have a merry time trying not to drown.

Sleetkit's tail swished back and forth, brushing over the pebbles. Still. Helpless. He couldn't help it. Every minute, every second, he had to practice, or else he wouldn't go anywhere. Alright, just stay patient, patient... The kit lowered himself into a stalking stance, picking over the rocks and sand with slow, careful paw steps. There wasn't anything to disrupt his hunt here. Poor Frogkit was curled up, trying to drink in as much sun as he could even on a day like this, completely unsuspecting. If only he was a vole...

He parted his mouth, his whiskers twitching, focusing on that fluffy gray tail, tuning out the steady coursing of the river, the heat beneath his paws, the wet green smells of the RiverClan border.

This was his chance.

With a yowl, he pounced, claws sheathed. "Boo!"

Well, he would've been lying if he said it was all just for practice.

"Ahhhh!" Frogkit yowled loudly, twisting around to face his foe after being startled from his peaceful sunbathing. His fur fluffed up instinctually, as did his ears that pricked upright as he batted at the assailant. Lucky for Sleetkit, lacking any real battle instinct yet, he didn't think to unsheathe his claws, instead bludgeoning Sleetkit until the familiar scent of a clanmate coupled with familiar features calmed down his rapidly pacing heart. "Gragh!"

The silver tomkit shoved Sleetkit off him once he'd recognised him with mild annoyance. "What was that for?!" Frogkit huffed, feigning licking his pelt back into place before tackling Sleetkit in an attempt to pin down the tom. Game on.

Lilackit padded through the small trees from RiverClan camp. Recently, she had been born and really hadn't done too much with kits. Now it was time for a big step to get her shyness away. She kind of already knew a little bit about Frogkit so she wouldn't be too shy around him. Of course she knew her own brother though. Sleetkit. Today Lilackit was going to try and act as excited and happy as possible, if that could really happen that is. Not like she was always sad, it was just a tryout on emotions, who cared if it got her embarrassed? She'd probably try and hide that away too.

Lilackit looked to see Frogkit and well...Sleetkit. He seemed to be everywhere, every time too...The small she-kit hopped over "You guys always seem to be fighting...Or is it just a tom thing?" she mewed as she looked at the two tomkits together. I mean, she couldn't not agree with herself, a lot of the toms she saw fought each other, so maybe.

Ahh, just hearing that wail was worth it. Sleetkit laughed through the light blows, falling back as he battered him away with sheathed paws and rolling back onto his feet. What was it for? Why wouldn't he try that? He turned at the sound of another kit's small voice, twitching his ears as Frogkit seemed to dip his head to smooth down his pelt. His sister? It looked like she was coming out of her shell, just a bit. "It's a warrior thing," he mewed with a flick of his tail. "If you don't get it, I'm—...! Oof!" Frogkit pounced, knocking him off his paws with the tackle. For the moment, he forgot about Lilackit. "Oh, you're on...!"

Without replying to Lilackit beyond a cursory flick of a tail in greeting, Frogkit focused most of his attention onto wrestling Sleetkit down with all of his strength whilst trying to get a good grip of his scruff with his teeth. It looked rough and painful, the way they rolled and tussled on the stone but all he could feel was the adrenaline coursing through him mixed with the thrill of a tumble. That all changed into a pit of fear when the stone beneath them suddenly rumbled, their fight must have unsettled something as the stone lurched hard towards the waters, throwing Frogkit off his foe and scrambling on the rock to not fall into the river.

Then the rock shook again as it slid towards the water. Time slowed down for him as he watched with wide eyes at Lilackit as his hindpaws were being submerged in icy waters. It started with his paws, then his hind legs completely. Then it stopped, before the whole rock tumbled into the cold waters.

"Ahh!"
