Birth of a Faction Empty
PostSubject: Birth of a Faction   Birth of a Faction EmptyTue 20 Aug 2013 - 12:23

Maria was light-footed as she walked through the alleyway. It was a misty afternoon, with clouds looming overhead and the atmosphere being pretty miserable. She was thin from malnutrition, and was talking an adventurous mouse that had strayed from the forest. She had learned basic hunting from her time in the Deomilities, and therefore decided to try and hunt. After eating from the silver Twoleg bins with foul smelling crowfood for most of her life now, a mouse sounded really good.

This day marked another day of searching for Jean. Maria would have given up a while back if not for a cat telling her he'd seen her friend around the Twolegplace. The cat was shady and proceeded to try to lead her into an alley, but Maria did not take the bait and ran away. Though the cat was foxdung and horrible, maybe he was telling the truth...?

This was all Maria had left. She had been so alone for the longest time, and when she got separated from Jean she had become miserable. She had to find her friend. Her friend had to be around.

Oh what a cute little mouse! It looked amazing. As Aisha silently hid out of its eyesight, she stared at it, almost drooling from how yummy it looked. She hadn't had actual prey in quite some time and this little mouse was just calling her name. Granted, a mouse wasn't much, but she would always choose that over the leftovers in the silver bins that lined the twoleg nests. As she crouched for it to sneak up to grab it, she stopped suddenly when she saw another cat not too far from her own target. Oh no. She was not going to let that cat get what she wanted, even if the rogue looked to be starving. Aisha knew how that felt, but if she wasn't going to get the mouse, then she wasn't going to let anyone else have it either. Immediately, without even trying to catch the little creature, she ran towards it-- heavy-footed and all-- hoping to scare it off. That way, it would make it to some safety and no one could have it at all... at least until it ventured out again. But that's when Aisha would be ready. "Get out of here!" she hissed, her attention not necessarily directed at either the stranger or the mouse. She just wanted to get attention and that was definitely the way to do it.

The mouse looked startled, and dashed away from both cats. Maria threw her head up at the newcomer, hissing. "Foxdung! Stupid stupid foxdung!" she cursed. Maria had appeared furious, but didn't get into any position to do anything. Her tail lashed with disbelief? Why did this cat do this? She was going to kill this cat! She could easily kill this cat!
...thoughts from her time with the Deomilities creeped up on her. No; even if she could land a fatal blow on the cat it would be wrong. She didn't want to be terrible. The Deos were terrible. She couldn't be terrible. She wouldn't be terrible.

And all the while this exchange was going down, Mila silently watched, perched on the rooftop. She had met Aisha only once, and they didn't particularly end on good terms. (Food had been scarce that week, and Mila had to do what she had to do.) She had recently made it a habit to patrol the streets and alleyways around her self proclaimed territory. Mila had seen Aisha before, and she was fairly certain she was familiar with many of the other faces around the neighborhood. But she had never seen this new calico, currently hissing and standing with fur bristling as she faced the other rogue. Mila didn't make a sound, didn't do anything that would alert the others of her presence, but she kept her eye on the she-cats on the street, wondering if she should step in at any point.

This place was terrible. Simply terrible. How long had she been wandering around? One day? Two? A moon? Many moons? She honestly wasn't sure. Each night here was cold and lonely. Every twoleg house looked the same. She had tried to find her way back to her homeland, but the long rain had washed any of her people's scents away and she only ended up going in circles. Jean tried to recall the way, but she could only remember that night in the tree clearing, watching her fellows be killed before her very eyes; those two young cats of Sky who held her down with blood-thirst and nearly killed her... hadn't Maria saved her.

Maria... where was she? They had run off together, but in the chaos, it wasn't much longer until they had been separated. A familiar whine held in the back of the throat. Oh, how she missed her dear friend...

There were two things that Jean dearly wanted. One was to find Maria, who she'd been searching for ever since they'd been separated. The other was to get pay-back on the cats who had ruined her life, most specifically the ones who had done her wrong - Silentpaw and Larchpaw, she remembered. She prayed to the Gods every night that they would take her to her sister as well as her revenge.

For now, though, she pad through a twoleg alley, her feet dragging weakly. She hadn't eaten in a decent meal in a few days and it showed. She hardly ever ate now. Her body was still the size it was moons ago and her ribs shone through her once beautiful pelt. She sighed, still carrying on.

Quickly, Aisha turned around to face the new cat that she had never seen before. "I'm sorry, were you going after that mouse?" she asked smugly as her tail lashed behind her. She wasn't ready to back down from this, especially with the condition that this cat was in. The stranger was in no way ready to fight, so if it came down to it, Aisha knew she would definitely win this. As she stood there and studied Maria, her ear twitched a couple of times, showing just how annoyed she was with the situation. If this cat was going to get out of here, she needed to do it quick.

Maria stared down the cat. How dare she take away her food. The she-cat was clearly starving, with her ribs clearly visible through her pelt. With a shaky sigh, Maria scampered off into the other direction, accompanied with the feeling of shame and anger. Back to the shiny silver Twoleg bins for her. Back to searching for Jean.
