Assessment For Lavenderpaw

Raccoonstar decided it was best to keep Crowpaw, and Lavenderpaw after the situation between them. So today here she was out in the territory, watching Lavenderpaw catch three pieces of prey for the clan. Hopefully she wouldn't take to long to do it. The tall grass swished around them with the breeze slowly making a small sound against each other.

After Raccoonstar gave the signal for Lavenderpaw to start the assessment, the blue and white apprentice quickly dashed towards SkyClan territory. She had started to feel more comfortable there since she visited the forest with Raccoonstar that other day, so it was simple for her to choose to hunt in an area she had grown attached to. On the way, she skidded to a stop as the scent of rabbit hit her. A very large one in fact, probably male from her assumptions. As it nibbled on the grass, Lavenderpaw went into a crouch, her belly fur just brushing the top of the moor as she slowly approached the rabbit. When she was close enough, the she-cat unsheathed her claws - just in case - and pounced...

... As soon as she pounced, the rabbit had started to dash. However, the WindClan apprentice quickly jumped in its path as it headed towards her. Pinning the large rabbit down, she tried not to get hit by the hare's ferocious kicks as she slowly started to bit into its flesh. Moment by moment, the rabbit started to struggle less and less until it went limp. Letting out a sigh of relief, Lavenderpaw smiled before picking it up and continuing towards SkyClan territory, dashing as quick as she could.

The rabbit's ears dangling on the floor as she ran through SkyClan's leafy territory, Lavenderpaw stopped, dropping the rabbit. Lifting her nose, the apprentice looked up, trying to find the scent of birds. It was greenleaf and there were many birds that were mating - a little late for that matter - making it simple to find or scent them, considering they were in groups. Leaving her rabbit on the ground, Lavenderpaw jumped quickly up the branch, following the scent of the feathered creatures. Getting into position as she spotted two small brown sparrows, she crouched down, sending her power to her hind legs, before unsheathing her claws. Double-checking and triple-checking if everything was right, including to make sure the wind was blowing her scent over to the birds, she pounced, landing close to the birds...

... As soon as she landed, she stunned both birds with a quick flash of her paws. Injuring them both so they couldn't fly away, Lavenderpaw quickly pinned both of them down. As the two tried to flap their wings in desperation to escape, the blue and white she-cat bit into their necks. Just like the rabbit, they slowly started to stop struggling before they stopped moving altogether, hanging from the tree, limp. Grabbing the two in her jaws, Lavenderpaw quickly leaped down the tree gracefully before softly landing on the ground, the leaves around her scattering. Picking up her rabbit, the WindClan apprentice ran back to the entrance of the camp, to meet Raccoonstar there to complete her assessment.

The leader quickly approuched the apprentice after she caught her third piece of prey. Her apprentice did well not missing a single prey at all. Well you could say Raccoonstar was proud this was her first successful apprentice since Patcheye. "Good job Lavenderpaw. Let's get back to camp so you can have a nice meal before your ceremony." The leader said happily, before moving to the camp.

Eyes shining, Lavenderpaw nodded before following Raccoonstar to camp. She was so relieved that she hadn't done anything bad, making it a simple and quick assessment. Well, the blue and white apprentice didn't know if she was the most successful apprentice, but she just wanted to try her best and fit in with WindClan. Now that she was going to be a warrior, that might just happen. Perhaps she'll find true happiness in her adopted clan now.
