Beautiful Tomorrow

The sun was just peaking out over the horizon, streaking the sky with bright splashes of orange, pink, and red. A few birds chirped their jolly tune in the distance, calling for a loved one maybe, or just singing about how the day was going to be a great day. As Lichenkit stuck his head out of the nursery, he took in a deep breath, the clean fresh air filling his lungs and reviving him for another day of play. Lichenkit pointed his ears forward to hear the gentle gurgle of the river, and the soft swaying of the reeds. After a few seconds pause to take in the still quiet camp, he padded out playfully, his soft paws making a little sound on the dirt beneath him as he made his way over to the edge. Lichenkit looked around, making sure no cat was watching as he pushed his way through the wooden-like plants and sat down on the very edge of the island. The water was pretty calm at this spot, and very cool. He allowed his fluffy tail to dip in the current, tugging at it softly. The feeling soothed Lichenkit, and slowed his calm heart rate even more; just mellowing him out in general. The young tom sat there, gazing out across the river with his pale green eyes, remaining still and silent, not moving an inch.
