Puddles n Mud

Cedarfur stared at his reflection in the water as the raindrops fell. Each time it would ripple, sending distortions out wave after wave in the water. Cedarfur smiled. The rain didn't spoil his first day as a warrior one bit. It was daytime, though he couldn't find himself going to sleep. He had slept in yesterday so that he could take his assessment late, and now he was wide awake.
As he walked off, though, he snagged his claw in the sinking mud. He felt a burst of pain. "Fox Dung!" he hissed, seeing blood well up under his now half attached claw. It was too late to wake up Softwhisper for such a minor incident...
He limped over under a tree, and started licking it. It wasn't so bad, or at least not as bad as he thought. At least he could walk.

Gingerheart had already had a hard time sleeping when the sound of Cedarfur's shout finally drove her out of her drowsy state. Grumbling, she opened her heavy eyes and lifted her head to see the slight rain shower outside. Great, just what she needed for her fur. The humidity in the air already hung on her pelt, but she had to ignore it. After getting up and shaking out her fur, she padded outside to see Cedarfur sitting off by himself licking his law. He still seemed wide awake. Gingerheart could remember her same excitement when she had to sit vigil. But what did he do to yell like that? "Hey Cedarfur!" she mewed, padding over to the young warrior.

OOC: Oh! I forgot that! ;A; Erm....that is exactly what he is doing!

Cedarfur sat near the entrance, hoping that no one would get in right then and there. That would definitely stink. Of course though, the second worse thing that could happen would be a clanmate sneaking up on him while he was laying down on dutyyyyyyWASTHATGINGERHEARTAUGHRTHMTKJJ
Cedarfur shot up, looking forward. He had been out all day, and should've been done soon. He couldn't screw it up. He didn't speak, and ignored the pain in his claw. He couldn't talk to a cat during vigil. Not even Gingerheart.
Where was a Sagestar when you needed him? ;n;

Speaking of which, Sagestar padded past Cedarfur on the way to his den, gently resting his tail on his shoulder and smiling. "You're fine. Your vigil ended a bit ago." He assured the new warrior and padded off, going to mind his own.

Cedarfur nodded, dipping his head in thanks to his leader. Because his freedom to speak had been restored, he turned to Gingerheart. "Hello!" he purred, though could not think of anything else to say. "Well...I guess we are finally both warriors."

"Yeah finally!" she mewed with slight excitement. It was funny how much she still sounded like an apprentice. "Now we can do all sorts of things! We can go hunting and go on patrols and look for other clan cats. Eve pick a fight with one of them! Ha! Its so much fun," she told Cedarfur with an impish expression.

"I think we'd get in trouble for that." Cedarfur said with a mrrrrrow of laughter. Not thinking, though, he leaned on his bad paw. "Owowow!" he hissed. Stupid thing. He shifted his weight quickly.

Gingerheart was about to protest to what Cedardur had said until he suddenly hissed from the pain he was in. Tilting her head to the side, she looked down at his paw trying ti figure out what was wrong. "What did you do?" She asked, hoping he was okay.

Mallowpaw stalked forward, his ears pricking up as he padded out from behind a pine tree and next to Cedarfur. "Are you okay?" the medicine cat apprentice asked hurridly. "I can help! Softwhisper taught me a couple things already!"

"I got it snagged." he murmured, before jumping at the sudden noise of Mallowpaw. He had been alert all night, so he was still on edge about every little twig snap or falling leaf. "Please?" he meowed, smiling.

"Is that all?" Mallowpaw mused, checking the claw hurridly. "Easy! That's one of the first things Softwhisper taught me!"

"Well, thank Starclan for that." he murmured to the apprentice. He felt like an old, wise cat, despite having been recently made a warrior.

Mallowpaw put up Cedarfur's paw and pulled it out hurridly and ran into the medicine cat den.
When he emerged a couple second later, he gave out with a couple of poppy seeds, smilling. He ran up to Cedarfur and put them next to the warrior's feet.
"Here!" he meowed. "Eat these."

"Ow!" he yelped, as his claw was pulled out. "What gives?"
He began chewing the seeds, still missing his claw. It was a beautiful claw that did not deserve such an end. ;n;
"Sfould I sfallow dem?" asked the cat. The poppy seeds tasted foul, and I tried to make that last thing not sexual. Shut up, you dirt gutter dirt.

Gingerheart stood off to the side as the small medicine cat apprentice worked diligently to help Cedarfur's paw. It was so cute to see Mallowpaw working so hard and to see how excited he was to finally help another cat. Although, she wasn't sure what was going to happen to that poor little claw. Was it going to grow back eventually? Or was it forever gone? She couldn't imagine how weird that would feel to be missing a claw. As she watched the entire process, she couldn't help but dig her own claws into the soft earth, trying to make sure that all of hers were still attached to her paws.
