Greypaw's Assessment

Sagewhisker waited in the center of camp for his apprentice. The sun was just about to go down and the moon was making it's appearance well known. It'd be a long night. He flicked his tail. Sagewhisker hadn't been given the advantage of not being able to work in the darkness and that was an advantage he wanted to give Greypaw, plus it'd also test her acute sight as well as her hearing and scenting, not like it would in the day.

Greypaw crept up behind Sagewhisker, pouncing on him. "Why do we have to go out so late?" she asked. Normally, she was asleep by this time. And the darkness kinda gave her the creeps.

The young tom had heard her coming and quickly jumped out of the way, batting her back with his paws playfully before sitting up and turning serious. "Quit your complaining." Sagewhisker rolled his eyes, "ShadowClan works best during the night and you're lucky I didn't put you on the midnight patrol. You need to learn to sleep during the day, we work while everyone is asleep and the prey is all awake." The warrior casually licked his paw and cleaned his ear while he explained what was going on. "Tonight is your assessment. Catch as much as you can before Moonhigh and return here."

Greypaw nodded, turning and running through the swampland before halting at a muddy place, where plenty of frogs slept. She crept up on one, pouncing when she felt close enough.
