| Sarrowsong padded into the nursery, finding it hard to dodge sleeping kits, or dislodge them from her legs. She finally made it to the very back, where the nests were cold and empty. Scents wafted from them, but she couldn't distinguish them, they were to old and stale, covered by milk scent and scents of queens, and kits new and old. She found one that was slightly bigger than herself, and shuffled it around to arrange it neatly to her liking. She curled up in it, liking it's feel, the warm moss beneath her fur, the feathers that had dappled it for queen long ago had now become soft, resting cushions for her sore paws. It was not long until the milky scents lulled her into a half sleep. ______________________________________  Art credit to Grey. |
