Maypaw's hunting patrol

Badgerfang padded over to the apprentice den and then spotted outside. It was about dawn right now, so she guess that Maypaw would still be sleeping. "Maypaw, wake up." she meowed as she poked her head into the den.

Maypaw woke up, startled. "Wha-huh?" she looked at Badgerfang and bounced out of her nest and began to groom the moss out of her fur. "Wht're wedoin tday?" she meowed through a mouthful of fur.

Badgerfang smiled a bit, "We are going on a hunter patrol." she turned and padded away into the territory, and then stopped, waiting for Maypaw.

Maypaw bounced outside, nearly typing Maykit and followed Badgerfang through the river to the territory.

Badgerfang turned to Maypaw and tasted the air. "Ok, so lets hunt on land, then we can try to get fish." Badgerfang got into a hunting crouch, "Do this when you scent a prey, and they get as close as you can toward it, then leap!" She stalked toward a vole, who was sniffing the ground, not seeing her. Badgerfang then leaped at the vole. The vole saw Badgerfang and quickly ran into the roots of a tree. "Mouse-dung!" Badgerfang growled as she landed neatly on her paws, then looked at Maypaw. "Well, it looks like that but you want to get the prey." she purred.

Occ: Ok, so to hunt, you enter like you are hunting, but you don't say if you get it or not. Then you hit Preview Below the Post A Reply thing it says Dice Roll #1. You want to click on the frist box and click on Chance Dice. Then you do as many rolls as the number of prey you are going to try to get. But because we are only doing one so far, just keep it at 1. Then you hit send, and use this to see if you got it or not.

Maypaw giggled at her defeat and tasted the air. She smelled a mouse in the reeds. She carefully stalked the ground, and pounced. She killed it swiftly with a bite to the neck and laughed. "So how did I do?" she meowed and pulled the mouse out of the reeds. It was a big, fat juicy mouse for so late in leaf-fall.

Badgerfang nodded and purred. "Very good, now lets try fishing!" Badgerfang padded to the river and laid down by it. "Ok, so when you are fishing you want to lay by the water, but make sure your shadow doesn't go over the water or the fish will be scared away! Once you see the shape of a fish near you, you want to try to grab it and pull it up onto land, where you give it the killing blow." Badgerfang watched the water as a fish swam near her, and she shot her paw into the water, sending some water onto her and Maypaw. She quickly pulled the big silver fish onto the ground next to her, and quickly killed it with a quick bite to the neck.

Maypaw watched intently and smiled. "Okay!" she whispered, trying not to startle any fish. She looked over the water, intent on the fish. She scooped one out of the water, but she put it down too close to shore and it flopped back in before she could kill it. "Drat!" she cursed.

Badgerfang looked at Maypaw and smiled. "We don't always get our prey on the first try. Want to try again?"

"Sure!" she meowed and sat down by the river. She saw a shadow and scooped it out of the water, this time much further from the shore. She killed the fish with a blow to the neck and grinned. She then saw a disturbance in the reeds and a water vole popped out, and practically ran into her claws, but she missed it, but she saw Badgerfang get it. "Good job! How LUCKY was that?"
