Making Friends with Storm

OoC: Lol I realized I haven't been RPing my own cats like I should be ;~;


An excited squealing came from the nursery, and then, without warning, a tiny kit came flying out of the den. She had light and dark brown splotches all over her body, mixed with sandy and white ones. Her emerald eyes shone only the way a kit's could.
Willowkit's mother had just told her about the new cat in camp, and Willowkit wanted to meet him. She froze in the center of the camp, however, because this was the first time she had been allowed out of the nursery.

Heathersong came out more slowly than her daughter, blinking her blue eyes slowly. She looked amused at the excitement in her kit's eyes, and even more amused whenthe kit stopped uncertainly.

Storm sat near the warriors den, helping himself to the smallest rabbit in from the fresh-kill pile. He flicked his ear, noticing the entrance of an estatically happy kit.

Willowkit then spotted the fluffy tom sitting off to the side, and she rushed over, her small tail up in the air.
"Are you Storm?" she asked enthusiastically, almost quivering with anticipation.

Storm paused, swallowing his food and looking down at the kit, "I am. And who might you be?"

The kit let out a teeny squeak, proud that she had been able to find the right cat.
"I'm Willowkit!" she mewled, sitting down in front of Storm.

"Well, hello there, Willowkit." Storm shot her a smile. "Where's your mother?"

"She's over there," the tortoiseshell answered, glancing over her shoulder.

Heathersong approached when she heard herself mentioned.
"Hello, Storm," she greeted the tom.

"Oh, thank you, Willowkit..." Storm flicked the kit playfully with his tail and gazed up at the she-cat, laying on the ground. "Heathersong. I don't think we've been properly introduced..."

Heathersong tilted her head to indicate that he was right.
"I'm just another warrior here," she mewed, laying down.

Willowkit stared at her mother, but when she had finished, the kit got rowdy again.
"She's the greatest warrior we have!" she cried, causing Heathersong to look abashed. "Her mother was the leader of our clan! The great Rainstar!"

"Willowkit, hush," the black and white she-cat scolded, looking slightly angry. "She's just a kit who's heard stories and likes to embellish them," Heathersong added, speaking to Storm.

Storm let out a mrrow of laughter. "Well, is it true? Was your mother Rainstar... That's the leader right.. Like Mistedstar?"

Heathersong hesitated, then nodded.
"Yes, she was the leader," she murmured, watching Willowkit pounce on leaves. "But she did a terrible thing."

Storm tilted his head, frowning. "A terrible thing?"

The she-cat grimaced, wishing she hadn't said anything.
"Let's just say I'm surprised she's even in Starclan," Heathersong told Storm.

Willowkit came bounding over, unnoticed by either of them, until she pounced on Storm's tail, her teeny claws unsheathed.

"I see..." Storm flicked his tail, passing around and teasing Willowkit knowingly. "What is StarClan, exactly...? I've seen them, but does everyone go there? Who are they?"

Heathersong stared absentmindedly at her kit, but answered Storm.
"Starclan is basically what we aim for in our clan life," the warrior said. "However, if we do bad things in life, we go to a place called the Dark Forest." Her eyes clouded at this, but she continued on. "Any cat who didn't do anything evil goes to Starclan. There, our ancestors can see the future and warn us through prophecies, but they're not usually clear."


Willowkit made a tiny growling noise as she pounced enthusiastically on Storm's tail.
"Fear me!" she mewed. "I am the mighty Tigerfrost, come to take over!"


Heathersong stiffened, and hissed, "Willowkit, pick somebody else. Please."
