Just Like Home

Cowpaw sat in the empty barn, as moonhigh threatened to approach. She was gazing down at her feet, wondering if this was right. She was told she was taken to WindClan whenever she was a kit, and never asked any other questions. While she was collecting herbs, though, she traveled a bit too far from the territory, and wound up finding this old place. For some reason, it felt familiar, a big, red den filled with hay. She wondered why, and hoped StarClan, or someone would soon tell her.

Heathersong padded into the barn. While she had been out on a patrol, she had caught the apprentice's scent leading this way. She saw the black and white cat sitting in the center.
"Cowpaw?" she mewed. "What are you doing out here?"

Startled, Cowpaw jumped into the air. "Oh, my. It's just you, Heathersong. Icewhisker asked me to go lookin' for herbs, and I found this place. . ." Squinting at the barn, she asked, "What is this place, anyway?"

Wondering why his apprentice hadn't come back yet, Icewhisker went out to look for Cowpaw. Her scent lead to the old barn, which held 2 great memories. He also scented another cat which he knew. She must have been on patrol... he thought. He slowly padded in, sighing in relief when he notice the black and white she-cat sitting there.

"Cowpaw! I was starting to worry." he admitted, but without the embarrassed tone.

"It's the old barn," Heathersong informed Cowpaw, watching the medicine cat apprentice closely. "It seems as if you recognize it?"
She glanced up when Icewhisker approached, and shook her head.

Turning to Icewhisker, she flattened her ears. "I'm so sorry, Icewhisker, sir. I just found this Twoleg den and I was confused at why no one was here. . . and I'd come a long way and I was a little tired and I just decided to take a little rest. I hope you're not mad. I buried the herbs in a pile of hay over there, I hope I collected a bit," She motioned with her head, towards an uneven in the hay behind her. "Erm. . . this barn, just looks mighty familiar. The outside, anyway. I'll admit that much."
