ooc: Because I just felt like it/like I should/what-the-h3ll, why not? x3. o3o
xD Sry it's bad... half-asleep...
MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. GODMODDING W/O PERMISSION. TOO LAZY.

Ebonyroot padded into her den, her feet weary from a long days travels. She had awaken before the dawn's greeting; her entire day consisted of running from one point of the territory to the next, searching and digging up any useful herb she could find. Many different assortments had had to been replenished after leaf-bare's deadly frost (Ha.).
The medicine cat nearly collasped in her den, a loud yawn escaping from her. Her legs ached all over and she could feel as if she could sleep for a moon... It was so worth it... Here's a toast too a good half-moon of none-foraging laziness!
As she padded over to her nest and curled up in it's softness, she felt a cold wind creep past the entrance and brush against her pelt. Her eyes started to flicker, her vision was vastly blurred. The last thing she could recall in her sight among the smudged patterns of her den was a faint, silver light.

A damp fog, dark and red, clouded her mind; much like the first sight your mind pictures when you wake in the morning, for the sun shines on your face and yet your eyes are still closed.
Feeling the light on her face, her eyes started trembling. 'Oh, please no.' Ebonyroot silently grimaced. 'Don't let it be day break already.' She had felt as if she had barely shut her eyes. StarClan forbid, they had to have known all too well that she was by-all-means, far from a "morning cat".
'No. Forget them... forget random cat with the thorns... /just/ until sun-high.'

A chilly breeze came her way once again only this time it was stronger, it ruffled her pelt and twinged her ears... Ugh... Stupid wind, go away. Let me sleep. ... wait a minute. This was not her den. Ebonyroot quickly drew her eyes open, her vision the same blur as before she fell asleep.
The she-cat jumped up on her feet, the fog clearing away, this place was becoming more recognizable by the second.
"This..." She started aloud. ".. This is fourtrees." The name sakes towered over the clearing she found herself in. They sheltered the sky, starless and with only the moon to show one's way.
"How did I get to fourtrees?" A clearly puzzled look covered her face, she was still in a sleep-denied daze.

"Honestly, you should be able to come up with something better to say then that."

Ebonyroot froze, turning around to find the source of the voice. There stood a small she-cat, her pelt complimented with sweet dashes of yellow tabby over her white coat. Her tail was crooked in an easily distinguishable way; Many scars from a cats claws laid across her face, her eyes seeming so badly in appearance that even the most simple stranger would not take the cat for sightful.
"Greetings, Mosspaw." The calico muttered respectfully, trying to catch on as quickly as possible. "Is there some reason you have come to grace me with your presence?" she flicked her ears, a hint of sarcasm with her tone. While the apprentice was her own at one time, the former mentor had realized after a while that she had possibly made the wrong choice, though still chose to lead her. A few days after a small "chat" between them, the blind Mosspaw climbed a tree two much for her limits. She fell from the heights and the impact had killed her. To say the least, and as tragic as it was, Ebonyroot still had mixed emotions about her...

She seemed to paid no mind. "StarClan has sent me to you to show you..." Mosspaw seemed to freeze, as if she were searching for the right words.

"A sign?" She guessed.

"A few." Mosspaw finished, a grateful look on the apprentice's face. "Thank you."

The surroundings of fourtrees seemed the melt away, Mosspaw drifted out of sight leaving Ebonyroot all alone in the nothingness. A small red liquid seemed too seep out of the ground she was standing on. Slightly alarmed, the calico started backing up, further and further as the strange goo rose higher and higher. In but a few moments there was a deadly red plain as far as she could see, it seeped up to her knees.
The she-cat let out a disgruntled moan and starting jumping, desperate to find some place untouched by the substance. The stench was simply horrid.
She kept running, the levels rising higher every moment. Then she saw it, Home sweet home!
Ebonyroot sprinted for the sweet marsh, knowing comfort would be found in the reeds where water rarely swayed. She ran her way through the rush and found a nice slab of granite.
The medicine cat sat down and caught her breath. There was no red sea here. Her eyes scanning the clearing, she called out for Mosspaw's name. Something strange occurred at the moment. One second, there was nothing on the solid rock but her. She turned her head and looked back, now in front of her lay a strange sight. A freshly picked supply of Deathberries lay before her.
With curiosity Ebonyroot unsheathed one of her claws and picked up a berry, bringing it up to her face to examine it closely. Strange, it really was. The red liquid that had chased her all the way to her land seemed to have no power here. Perhaps that was for a reason, for once Deathberries seemed a little comforting. (I seriously didn't know how to play this out xD)
The medicine cat twitched her ears. This had to been one of the signs Mosspaw spoke of... There was only one cat she could associate with the Deathberries. That was Deathkit.
Ebonyroot recalled a conversation with her and Tigerfrost.
"My kit looks like she has deathberry on her..." The queen had said. "Do you think it's a sign? Do you think she should be a medicine cat?"
The calico had honestly had no clue what to answer, such a rash suggestion seconds after the birth. In addition to that, the Deathberry certainly lived up to it's name, a medicine cat would have no value in it. But... this was a sign as clear as the whiskers on her face. Something had to keep the dangerous ocean from harming ShadowClan land, there was no significant object other then the herbs in front of her.
Now that she had though about it, Deathkit had certainly showed an interest in her den lately, along with Moonkit. This had to be the sign Tigerfrost was hoping for. Deathkit was truly meant to help serve the clan, and to watch over them when it was her turn to join her ancestors.
"I will take Deathkit as my apprentice then..." she muttered. It was StarClan's wish.

The familiar homeland disappeared and was replaced once again with the image of fourtrees.

"Ebonyroot? Ebonyroot, where did you go?" Mosspaw's voice picked up from behind her. The elder she-cat sped around.

"Excuse me?" she said and flattened her ears. "You're the one who nearly drowned me in that crimson mess! I know what you mean. I've got the messa-

"-What? That's impossible! I hadn't done a thing."

The sincere and concerned look on the apprentice's face confirmed it. "Huh? she said. "If not you, then who-?"

"Let's forget it. Time is running short." Mosspaw grunted, "The reason I've brought you here..."

A familiar wind picked up again, this time it was stronger then the times before. It almost seemed to push her. A voice rang in her head... Let it guide you.
Ebonyroot blinked slowly and turned her head with the air's current. 'It's running to WindClan...' she thought, the voice followed. A clan in peril, StarClan is not within' reach ...
This shook her... The only way that would be possible was if they had no Leader, which they certainly did. News had spread quickly throughout the clan with a run in the shining, new Featherstar during a patrol along the Thunderpath. No, it had to be a closer touch... Then the only other possibility would be the absence of a Medicine Cat. She knew that Wolfpaw had disappeared mysteriously moons ago, then only other cat who could reach StarClan. No. Had Moonmist passed on?
The she-cat shook her head in disbelief, but something told her took back unto WindClan. It took what seemed to be a half-sun to see any changes, but things were happening. What she realized soon on was that the land was being transformed. Every blade of grass and everything seed was being slowly covered with a glittering frost. It covered in a glass sheet and found it's way to fourtrees. Icicles began to dangle from the branches, somewhere, she was sure a mushroom was suffering of the cold.
A chain reaction of thoughts were occuring to her... WindClan was in need of a medicine cat, a leaf-bare worthly frost swept over the land, and yet the moor still seemed to blissful and healthy. She swore she saw a rabbit or two sprint through, an odd site considering the weather. Was this sudden, freezing cold the thing she needed. Who in WindClan could help that through?
Her mind searched through the people she knew... Fallensoul... No. Just no. Not Raccoontail either. Certainly not Shadowpaw... Nor Firekit (Don't ask how she found out they moved. ><;), who had left Dragonsoul to move there, she didn't seem to fit the part. Wait! She had a brother... His name?... Oh! "Icekit!"
Ebonyroot couldn't help but letting out a small purr, remembering the shy little tom. StarClan must wish for Icekit to be WindClan's next medicine cat.

Out of the corner of her vision, she saw Mosspaw step forward, the frost evaporated in the strangest way. She said nothing for before, maybe nothing needed to be said.
"As you know, SkyClan is also in dire peril. They need someone strong, to ferfill the duties me... to ferfill the duties Hazelpaw before me... and Hollowpaw before her."
She turned her gaze over to the areas with ShadowClan and ThunderClan land, but did not give them more then a glance. She knew what she wanted to do, she felt it in her paws. Ebonyroot spun around and jumped on top of the four legendary trees, happily placing herself in the Leader's position for a greater look. Over the marshes of her home and the trees and undergrowth of ThunderClan, she could see SkyClan's territory tower strong and proud.
Ebonyroot stared at it, waiting for the key to the answer the question of who would StarClan chose to be the clan's first full pledged medicine cat.

After a few minutes wait, the most breathtaking sight came into view. The moon disappeared, leaving the land black. Soon, coming up like the sunrise over the trees of SkyClan, was a brilliant white light. It covered every inch of their land, even shining onto the other clans. Near impossible to describe, it's simple presence had Ebonyroot's spirits lifted, leaving her joyful.
"Brightkit." She purred. The kit didn't have to be in SkyClan for her to understand, the message was quite clear... And Ebonyroot is such an obvious stalker that she knows the names of every single clan cat.

Just when she felt she might have to go and get some sunglasses... or some sunscreen (Whatever that was..), Ebonyroot blinked her eyes. The weight on her eye lids were heavier then before and she realized that she was no longer in the even grounds, but back in her den. The sun was starting to rise.
The she-cat groaned. She felt as if she had been awake all night! Oh well, you win some and you lose some.
The three names ran through her head: Deathkit, Icekit, and Brightkit.
Ebonyroot yawned. She would need to talk with Hawkpath and Lilyleaf, perhaps Mistyriver too. They could help her... right?... Right? D:
The calico stood up and shook her pelt before padding out of her den, she had a lot of work to do. Well, there went that half-moon of laziness...

There you go. My spring break boredom right there. xD Congrazzles.
