He continued gazing down at them.

Leopardheart smirked. "Since when did a traitor tell a deputy what to do? You wanted a position of power, and you got it from slinking off to another weaker clan. I will do whatever I please."

"Or she was more honorable than any of you, and decided to help a clan in need, and along the way, got the position?" he growled.

Deadfrost rose to his paws, fur bristling. "You don't know the half of it." His eyes were suddenly hurt.

Leopardheart growled at Bramblestar. "Well, the new leader speaks," she hissed.

Sunset threw a stony glare at Featherfall. Then she looked squarly at Bramblestar.
"Stuff it, fox-heart."
She hissed.

"You one to talk about fox-hearts, you slimy furball! Maybe Bramblestar's right, Leopardheart. Rainstar didn't offer me the position till I moved to her Clan." She growled, her tail lashing.

Deadfrost couln't hold his tongue any longer. "I'm sorry, Leopardheart, but I can't hold my words back forever." His eyes were shadowed with emotion. He studied his paws. "Featherfall...you left me with nothing. Not a single kit. You ripped my heart out that day; I almost killed myself. I have a loving mate now, but I have not yet had the chance to give my say. You let me without even consulting me..and went off with Bramblestar. Criticize me if you wish, hurt me if you will, kill me if you will. But I can't take it anymore....I don't understand! It's as if I meant nothing to you, so you could just dispose of me any time you wanted." His gaze was sad. "Go ahead..punish me with words like claws."

Sunset pressed herself against her brother, hoping to comfort him. That was the most she could do, for this was not her concern.

Featherfall looked like he'd stuck her with unsheated claws. It was all she could do not to scream at him. "You... you think you did, nothing wrong?!" She stuttered. "You, you, you had your heart in another place. It was never with me! It was with getting the position of deputy! I couldn't leave my kits with you! Your probably would have been off leading another patrol while they sat in the nursery and starved. I don't care what your excuse is, but you never would have given up your dream for us! And when I belonged to you, I was never able to think for myself. You were always telling me what to do, when we were leaving, what I was eating, when I was training my apprentice. You smothered me. I can't handle it. You always had to tell me how to do what, and I can't stand being your prey!" She cried out, panting after the rush of words spilled out of her mouth.

Deafrost looked taken aback. "I...I only wanted to impress you. Ever since I became your mate, I felt like I was never good enough for you. I though maybe if I hunted harder, or patrolled better, I would make myself feel better about how I was to you. I know I thought wrong. I was uptight and proud, and I hate myself for that. I hate myself for going that far. You would have fit deputy better than I ever could, and I'll admit, I was jealous. But I never had wished for you to leave the Clan, after the kits, after the walks in the snow, after Rainpaw.....It's all too much. Life is torturing me, physically and mentally. I feel like a mad rogue sometimes, who was hit by a monster too many times." Looked down, hurt.

Sunset filled with rage. Even though this was not for her, Featherfall had no right to torture him like so.

Featherfall sniffled. "I'm sorry your troubled by me Deadfrost, but I was going crazy being with you. I always had to make sure I did the right thing. That I hunted the right prey, said the right thing, walked and talked the way you would have wanted me too. Being with you was a pain in the heart, it was work. I need someone who can just let everything flow freely. Someone who I know is going to be there, and someone who loves me for me, not for what other people though of me. But it didn't matter. I never was anything to ThunderClan anyways." She said, softly, her eyes flicking from Bramblestar's protective gaze and Deadfrost's heart broken eyes.

Bramblestar kept his mouth shut, knowing this wasn't his business.

"I didn't care how you talked. I didn't care you you hunted. It never mattered to me....and I wasn't worth it. I'm not worth it for anyone. One day, Firefly will grow bored of me too. Just watch. The whole Clan is bored of me. I'm worthless...and I don't get to see our kits grow up. Every day I worry about them, I care about them. I'm tearing myself apart, bit by bit, each day. And it feels like you tossed me away, like a bad piece of fresh kill. And after that, I figure out one of Firefly's kits is blind, and I get into a huge fight with my sister for killing Swiftshadow. I don't feel like the warrior I once was. I feel like a stupid, lost kittypet, and no one can fix me." He cast a look at Bramblestar. "Do your worst to me. I'm not worth it anyways."
