Nectarpaw felt her stomach drop when her attack landed on empty air. She didn't even realize it as Sootstorm moved out of the way and returned the attack. His paw caught her and like a rock in a river, Nectarpaw dropped to the ground, panting. She hadn't expected Sootstorm to go easy on her, but stars did her body ache!
"O-Okay, I'm done." She puffed. Already Nectarpaw was dreading her first real battle. It was likely to come sooner than later and if sheathed paws hurt this much, she didn't ever want to feel actual claws.
The apprentice frowned down at the peaty soil, her twitching tail betraying her annoyance. She was being ridiculous; this was her first training session, and her opponent was a fully grown warrior. Maybe she was being just a tad hard on herself.
Either way, this spar was over - Nectarpaw wouldn't be able to handle any more fighting.
"Did I do okay?" The she-cat looked up at Sootstorm, hopeful. "I really did try my best." One day, her best would be a whole lot better.
Nectarpaw used Disengage dealing 0 damage at the cost of all remaining stamina.

| Nectarpaw finally ran out of stamina. "You did very well! With more training, you'll easily be the best warrior in Windclan!" Sootstorm purred, flicking his tail over the she-cat's ear in a sign of assurance. "But for now, I think we've done enough for this session. Let's return to camp, and you can get first pick of the fresh-kill pile!" The warrior added, then proceeded to lead Nectarpaw back to camp.
