Firefly tilted her head sideways. "Deadfrost. Do you seriously think everyone here looks at you, and only sees your scars?"

"No," he meowed, surprised. "I've been told that others look on what's inside...however, you can't hide old scars, both emotional and physical, of the past." His tail-tip twitched. "I don't know what they see in me, though. I can guess, but I don't know."

"What do you think they see you as?" Her voice got softer. "Do you think they see you as an ugly monster, or a regular everyday clan cat?"

Leopardheart growled. "Don't say anything about emotional scars. You know nothing about the pain that comes with that."

Firefly sighed and flopped back down. "What is it that Lilyleaf gives cats with pain?"

"Poppy seeds." She answered the question, popping her head back into the den, with a mouthful of wet moss.

"Could I have some?" She asked quietly. "It hurts to much not to do anything."

Deadfrost blinked at Leopardheart. "Actually, I put it the wrong way. I meant grief. I have had so much lately.." he trailed off. Visions of his sister being taken away by the twolegs flashed in his mind, and he began to shake. "No! Sunset!" he cried. He hung his head. "I'm sorry, I should have been there for her, though!" His voice shook.

Leopardheart growled quietly. "You lost a sister. I have lost more."

Deadfrost's shoulders sagged. "I won't argue." He thought of his dead sibling, Jaggedlines, his dead father, Blackeyes, and his small son, bleeding to death in the freezing snow. And now, his sister, gone forever.

Leopardheart flexed her claws. "My parents...I maybe even had siblings...cousins...all gone in that....."

Firefly, now feeling more tired then ever, looked at Leopardheart and Deadfrost with her good eye. "I have lost my family too." She mewed quietly. "But, i'v learned its no use talking about it over and over, reminding yourself of the awful memory."

Featherfall nodded and walked over to Lily's herb supply. She nudged some poppy seeds onto and leaf and scouted them towards Firefly. She closed her eyes, not thinking of her son. Instead she let her mind go numb and her heart as well.

Firefly licked up the seeds, and laid her head down again. "Thanks..." She mumbled.

"No problem." She mumbled.
