Rainkit has died

Deadfrost laid Snowclaw down in the medicine den, and padded through the fern tunnel, his son grasped in his jaws. He came to the centre of the camp, and laid Rainkit down. Deadfrost sat down and let tears roll off his face. "Oh, Rainkit..." He pressed his nose into his fur, and the kit scent he once held was gone.

Angelpaw saw her mentor, crying. "Oh my!" she whispered shocked to herself. "Deadfrost, what's wrong?" she asked when she was beside him. Seeing Rainkit she became awfuly sad...

"He died...Snowclaw was there. She's in the medicine den, ask her what happened." His throat tightened in grief.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! It must be so, well, sad. Is Snowclaw okay? I better go and check on her." Angelpaw said sad and shocked. She looked at his tears and blinked away a few small tears.

Deadfrost began to stroke his son's fur sadly. Rainkit, I'm sorry..I should have made sure you had someone to be with you...

"Don't worry, my father, I'm still with you." Rainkit's spirit sat next to Deadfrost.

Sunset peered in.
"Is... is he ok?"
Her voice was cracking, giving away her heavy feelings for the kit, as if he were her own.

OOC: sorry, posted it right after you said not to. Oops ^^"

OCC: No, you can post. I was telling the others to hold back with the posting.

IC: Deadfrost looked over at Sunset. "He's gone, Sunset. He was killed by a dog...I couldn't save him...Oh, my son!" he moaned, and more tears ran down his cheek. "What will Featerfall think...he was our only kit!" His voice quivering.

"He would have made a wonderful warrior."
She said, trying to comfort him.
"But it's ok. StarClan wanted him, wanted him for a great destiny. Do not be sad he has departed, for surely he is happier where he is now, safe in the ranks of StarClan with all knowledge he can have."

Deadfrost looked up. "Same goes for you, and your mother." He let a small grin cross his face. "We both have lost someone lately, then."

"Well, I suppose you're right."
She said.
"But, I've lost three close cats now."

Deadfrost sighed. "But I have lost my son, and I do not know who my parents are. I have no parents, siblings...I have no family either!"

"I know how you feel."
She sighed.
"He must have been very close to you."

"He was my only son! Of course I was close to him!" he snapped, then eased off. "I'm sorry, but..." he trailed off, and buried his nose into Rainkit's fur.

"I'm sorry."
She said.
"I think I'm just causing more grief. I think i should leave before something else goes wrong."

Deadfrost shook his head. "No...you are fine. It's me. I should have watched him..."
