Shinningpride Is Dead

Sunset emerged from the camp exit, clutching Shinningpride's scruff, and with the help of Deadfrost, placed her in the middle of camp. It strongly reminded her of Brightfire's death.

Deadfrost let his gaze rest on the dead warrior for a moment. "I will tell Goldenstar," he murmured solemnly, and padded off.

While she waited, she crouched down and fixed Shinningpride to look like she was sleeping, using her paw to gently shut her eyes.

Deadfrost came back moments later. "Goldenstar's not there, she must be out with Lightningpaw."

"We'll... we'll need to tell Blazepaw."
She mumbled.

Deadfrost nodded slowly. "Yes. Which means I will be his full mentor." He looked around the camp. "This makes you think of Brightfire's death, doesn't it?"

She nodded.
"I remember my chance to help her stay alive. But i didn't take it."

Deadfrost sighed. "You can't stop death sometimes, Sunset. I was probably her time."

"She... she told me StarClan needed her. well, it's not working out, because Lilypaw's never really around, so the Clan is suffering."
She mewed bitterly.

Lightningpaw came back into camp with a thrash in his arms, he saw shiningpride laying parylyzed "What happened" He ran towards her

Deadfrost shook his head. "You can't change it now, she died, and that's that. Lilypaw will be a true medicine cat soon, and then we will not suffer. We are not suffering now, either." His eyes lit up with a flame. "ThunderClan is strong."

Sunset turned to Lightningpaw.
"She... she's dead."

Featherfall ran into the clearing suddenly. "I had a feeling that Sunset had been crying." She said, approaching Deadfrost. "What happened to Shinningpride?" She whispered in his ear, as so Sunset wouldn't hear her.

"She died at Fourtrees today....with me, Sunset, Midnightpelt, and Heartpaw. I saw Flamepelt later on, too..." he explained in a very quiet tone.

Featherfall's face dropped. She looked to Sunset, and went to sit by her friend. "I'm sorry." She said, resting her tail on her shoulder.
