| This isn’t a plot as much as an idea for kinds of games WindClan apprentices and warriors might play using site mechanics. The list is not exhaustive and I’d love to add suggestions! Dice Games
Racing a full-speed competition on the flattest part of the territory with a predefined start and finish. Uses big dice; largest number comes in first, and everyone else finishes in descending order.
Egg hunt a game taught to new apprentices, often before they go on their first hunt, as stealing eggs from ground nests is safer than tackling large rabbits. Uses big dice; each hundred is the number of eggs successfully stolen (54 is none, 107 is one, 235 is two, etc). Realistically, birds lay eggs in the spring and summer.
Tunnel tag two or more cats play tag in a sturdy rabbit warren where all paths meet back together (no dead ends). Uses hunting dice; lowest number becomes ‘it’ for the next round. The predator risk is removed.
One-turn hunting competition users predetermine the value of certain types of prey, with lower success chances meaning higher value (much like an herb hunt). The hunters roll for a single attempt at catching their chosen prey, and whoever has the higher value catch wins. Uses hunting dice; predator encounters are still a risk.
Flower field hide-and-seek cats use rows of bright, strong-scented flowers to disguise themselves while one chosen cat is the seeker. Uses the invasion dice; the seeker doesn’t roll. If the hiders roll successfully, they don’t get found that turn. If they fail, they join the seeker until the final hider is found. The final hider becomes the seeker if the cats want to play another round.
Camp escape apprentices attempt to slip out of camp at night. The warriors are aware they do this, but encourage their cunning by assigning lenient punishments when they are caught. This game also alerts the warriors to weaknesses in their camp walls and guard positioning. Uses camp invasion dice; the night guards (2) do not roll. The escaping apprentices’ success is determined by their rolls.
Spooky ghost stories in a much less competitive fashion, WindClan cats gather together over a meal and tell tall tales. Uses StarClan Revelation dice; users write their myths, gossip, and humblebrags based on what kind of roll they get. Not everyone has to participate, and can sit back and listen to the stories.
Fighting Games
Even playing field two sparring partners, no matter their size, age, or experience, drop to equal stats and moves.
First Blood a fast-paced test of wit. Each opponent aims to strike first while dodging their enemy’s blows. When a winner is determined, a new round with reset health and move availability may begin.
Free-for-all a game for three or more players. Each cat must swap targets every turn. For example, in a game of three cats, if cat 1 attacked cat 2 on their first turn, they must attack cat 3 on their second, and then cat 1 on their third, and so on.
With that being said, who’d like to play a game? And if anyone was into it, I could keep a game table in WindClan daily life, or you could just ask if anyone wants to play a game in this topic. I’d love to try tunnel tag :) ______________________________________ Sun // Living Characters // Deceased Characters
