Locked Out Of Heaven [Flashstorm's Death]

He was a warrior now, but he was not free. He was trapped, by the Asylum. By Dawnhawk. He couldn't speak out, even without claws Dawnhawk had proven himself to be a formidable opponent. And now he had power. Not only was he leading the Asylum cats stationed in SkyClan, he was deputy. He had too much control. There was no escape. He was drowning. Dawnhawk was drowning him. He was going to die. He had to run. He had to get away. He wouldn't let Dawnhawk kill him. He couldn't.

He had no choice. He had to get out. There were too many. They were closing in on him. They were going to end him. They wouldn't get the chance. The trees. He had to get to the trees. Those would be his escape. Climb. He needed to climb. They're coming. They're trying to catch him. They're clumsy. They don't know the trees. He does. He needed to run. Race along the branches. He was almost free. He could get out. He could be free.

He was falling. The tree failed him. The branch snapped. This was it. He could barely hear his own screams. The wind. It was too loud. He couldn't breathe. They were watching him. They were laughing. They got what they wanted. He was too stupid. Too rash. The StarClan cat. He warned him against this. Flashstorm should have listened.

A thud. The pain was quick. Flashstorm barely felt it. He was floating now. The Asylum cats were gone. Now he saw Leaffrost. She was crying. They were at the camp, now. His body. It looked peaceful. The Clan was mourning. They missed him. Dawnhawk. He was there. Flashstorm wanted to lunge. Wanted to tear his throat out. Something held him back. StarClan. They were calling him. He had to go. He couldn't stay here. He looked back.

"Goodbye, SkyClan. I am sorry. I have failed." And then he was gone.
