End of an Era

Seasons have passed since the clans have settled around the lake, and moons have passed since the last battle was fought. Sure there were disagreements and skirmishes here and there, but nothing on the scale of battles that had been waged in the past. Finally, there was peace throughout the territories and the clans thrived. Until one rather harsh leaf-fall, prey was much more scarce than normal. Before the real cold of leaf-bare had set in, the clans were already near starving. On top of the famine, a brutal wave of greencough swept through the lake territories. It did not discriminate between clans, between young and old, strong and weak. It decimated all four clans, bringing them to their knees. Usually with the first signs of new-leaf, the clans rejoice as prey returns and they have the chance to grow strong once more. But this time, they were like ghosts moving through the forest. With their numbers so few, warriors and apprentices are spread thin trying to keep the borders strong and hunt and provide for the few members of their clan they have left.
To top everything off, one power-hungry tom tried to plunge the clans into a new war, stating that they had to band together and form one clan, that together they would be strong and prosper without borders and under his sole rule. He fought for his plan, banding together with Riverclan and attempted to drive out Windclan and Thunderclan as they did not agree with his methods or the preposterous plan he had in mind. In the end of another brutal war that even fewer cats made it out of, the clans looked bleaker than they had before. There was one thing Adderstar's plan had brought that was good, and that was the promise of kits. The mingling of the clans meant Riverclan and Shadowclan were bursting in their nurseries, but how will these half-clan cats fare in a world where borders are now much more strictly enforced and loyalty is always tested?
