Goldenkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Flintshard, somehow, had managed to awkwardly climb his way onto the Jaggedrock, something which was no small feat with his leg injury. But he was deputy now, something he felt didn't really change things in hindsight. A couple added tasks, which granted did mean talking to others more but...Well, he was deputy now and he was willing to do what it took to make his mother proud. Thornstar didn't deserve another failed deputy after what had transpired with Lynxscar. "ShadowClan! Its time for a ceremony," he called out, shifting on his paws as he waited for the Clan to gather. It was...Odd, doing this. Calling out and knowing the Clan would listen - he wasn't used to being listened to. Hm. This was going to take some getting used to.

Goldenkit's ears perked up at the sound of Flintshard's Voice. A ceremony? Her heart sped up a little as she poked her head out of the nursery. Could it be hers? She hoped so. She'd definitely been in the nursery long enough, she thought. Not that she had anything against its warm coziness, but it was getting old. She sat down with her other gathered Clanmates and gazed up at the deputy.

Flintshard waited until a good deal of the cats had gathered before he cleared his throat, feeling extra awkward as all the eyes were now on him. "Goldenkit, please step forward," he called out, intense gaze falling onto the young kit who he had spotted scampering up to the grouping. As he waited, he shifted on his paws, kneading the rock beneath him as he waited. It had been...Strange, trying to decide who would mentor the young kit. It was hard to know who would be a good fit, he didn't know his denmates well or the young kits that were crowded in the nursery - being far to noise to ever even think about visiting. But a simple fact had made the choice easier...That his own apprentice was about to be a warrior. "Goldenkit, you are old enough to become an apprentice. You will now be known as Goldenpaw and I will be your mentor," he said, before he hopped down from the Jaggedrock to greet his new apprentice - knowing it was customary to do so. "We'll start your training soon," he said as he approached, leaning down to touch noses with her. His leg was still healing but he was confident in his abilities that he could fulfill the simple task of mentoring while it finished healing as he settled into his role.
