Arcane Asylum

Arcane Asylum: Sitewide Plot Proposal 0*m6VA1tz4u86anc1E

Plot Summary: Following the Windclan plot, the Nightstrikers return to their home to report on the forest. Shortly before their leave is when they gather the information that there is more than one clan to this forest. Windclan has now discovered these are not simply predators but knows the true nature of their pelt-wearing foes. They return to Asylum [the group they come from] and report of a group of clan cats that rival their own growing numbers. Of course, Mr. BigBad, the Asylum Head, takes this as his next great challenge and seeks to conquer the forest. Having learned of the clans' ways, they return and pick off the clans one by one, sending in strong enough numbers to take over the cats while they sleep. For a while, the clans are ruled underneath the watchful eyes of Asylum. These cats have vicious and strategic fighting techniques unmatched by any other rogue group. Both intelligence and brute strength are things they possess. It is during this time that Arcayus, of the Oasis that Asylum was born from, wrestles with overcoming his fears and the long-standing attempt to forget his past. Finally, he goes to his clan leader in secret [which is hard with Asylum cats always watching] and reveals he knows these cats and knows their ways. It is then that he helps to teach the clan cats the weakness of their captivators and leads a rebellion against the Asylum, which successfully frees the clans from their captors.

Phase 1 - A r r i v a l

This is when the Asylum cats first return to the forest, but with bigger numbers. They arrive at the edges of the territory to plan for their take over following what information was brought back by the scout team that had been sent out and terrorized Windclan. An introductory post would be made in order to explain the Oasis, where the Asylum came from, all of their backstory and lore, as well as their previous connection on the site. Here they would plan for the idea of taking out the clans in a single night before they can warn each other, with the exception being Shadowclan, who would be the first to be taken by Asylum cats.

Phase 2 - A t t a c k

Their group is split into five factions, all prepared to attack the clans. Since they know of clan structure, there would be some plan in place to likely take hostages in order to prevent the clans from fighting back. Those would probably be the kits or the clan's leadership/medicine cats. There could be an actual battle topic that happens with the system involved, but it would either have to be cut short to ensure a win by Asylum or be played out by some other means.

Phase 3 - A r r e s t

Underneath the rule of the Asylum, few things change in terms of what happens in clan life. A leader from Asylum would be assigned to each clan. Their place is mostly to make sure the clan understands that they are underneath the rule of the Asylum, to take their prey, and to prevent uprisings. Otherwise, supervised training and hunting is allowed. For these topics, an Asylum can would not be required but it would be recommended that everyone mention they are being watched by an Asylum cat. Additionally, there might be some unrest between the two groups, leading to several fight outbreaks. The plot would be handled in such a way that indeed the clans would sit underneath Asylum rule and presence, but would be setup to allow for any requirements to still happen to people could continue to rank.

Phase 4 - A d m i t t e d

After wrestling with the demons of his past and keeping the secret from his new clanmates, Arcayus finally decides to face his own anxiety and worry in order to help free the clans. He finds a way to speak with Finchstar about his past history with the Asylum cats and their shared origins, as well as ideas of their weakness. The two [with possibly another cat] find a way to escape and begin to start the revolution that will free the clans.

Phase 5 - A c t i o n

With this newfound knowledge and revived hope that they will be able to free their clans, final battles break out in the clans and Asylum is chased away. At some point [potentially] there is a reveal that dark forest aided in the successful take over of the clans and that they have slowly started to revive from their years previous defeat.

Additional Points/Proposals:
- Currently, Pakhet, the leader of the Nightstriker's group, is supposed to fight Finchstar at Highstones and potentially die.  Upon seeing one of the honorable clan leaders kill someone at Highstones, a Dark Forest cat reaches out to one of the Nightstrikers and in their dreams whispers more of the weaknesses of the clans, in hopes to fall the clans that have betrayed them all. This could be a start for an introduction of the Dark Forest returning. It would allow for a reintroduction of the Dark Forest and have subtle Dark Forest undertones without them specifically rising to power during the plot. The next big plot after could be about Dark Forest influence again.
- The option being open to anyone who wants to have an NPC cat. This would be a temporary spot. Given the foe needs to be strong enough to fight all of the clans, allowing any RPer who wants to sign up would boast more numbers. Each spot would have to be gone by the end of the plot, and while active would have to be labelled as an NPC. Of course, specific signups would be held for more important positions. But this would also allow for all active/semi-active members of the site to be involved in the beef of the plot going on in order to keep people engaged.
-  Everyone who submits a character will be assigned to a clan in order to equally spread the numbers. So instead of being able to specifically develop relationships OOC ahead of time, it would give the opportunity to mix with other RPers that people might not often interact with, which I think would be fun.
- The general direction of the plot and ending would not be announced and several mini 'side-quests'/little incidents would happen to make it an exciting time.
- Knowing the connection between Starclan and a leader's lives, the one difference is they do not allow anyone to visit the Moonstone. However, Starclan starts to temporarily visit apprentices in their dreams in place of official moonstones as the plea from the clans for help grows. Starclan lets them know they are not abandoned.
- Announce when the plot will begin three months in advance and cut off clanwide/major other plots before that point in order to prevent chaos/people's plots being cut by a last minute announcement.
- This is an ambitious plot with how much there is to be handled, like the flood plot! But I'm hoping to structure in such a way that it would not change up all of site life too drastically and would not put too much work on staff overall.
