Chapter 1

~Aaron's PoV~

Comments: Um, no charrie bios, and if you want me to put a charrie of yours into the story, pm me all about her/him. Also, if you are included, may alternate Point of View wise. Though i must give Rain for inspiration on the point of views :;): Also, sorry it's kinda short, but i hope future chapters will be longer.

I walked down my street, thinking I could not possibly be MORE bored. There was nothing new in my life anymore; it's like a giant robot came and ripped all the excitement out of my life. Well, nothing could be farther from the truth, for in just a moment the utter opposite would happen. But I'm not to that point of the story yet. Of course, i'm forgetting the major thing that happened recently. No, we still have far to go. Let's start, maybe, a couple of days before my life was changed forever? Sounds about right. Okay then. A normal school day, turned upside down. I could have taken these clues and put them together, but I was stupid and let it slide. Why? Don't ask me. Anyway, here's how it started.
Alright, so I was in school, learning, watching people whisper, listening to the scratch of chalk on the board. Suddenly, I freeze, as did most people. A shrill scream came from down the hallway, and the whole building shook. The teacher yelled, "Earthquake!" Though it wasn't. Earthquakes are common where I live, but still, this was no average earthquake. We were all under our desks, so i didn't see it, but something broke the window and screeched like a bird three times it's average size. But that was only event one. There were two more, and this one was the least scary. Trust me, the next ones were things even after I fought the monsters, I would never forget. But from here on, no more spoilers!
The next time, I was in a rec center, the gym. The floor split in half, and thinking it was another earthquake, we dived for the bleachers. We watched in horror as a shadowy beast with a molten sphere in it's chest rose out. Many smaller versions followed it, and they took to the skies, spreading their shadowy wings. The floor resealed, but I decided not to stray my mind over it, or else it would just result in more problems. I figured I was just hallucinating. However, the last time, it was dangerous and there was no way I could've dreamed it.
I was all alone on a shady night, no different from this one, and something hissed at me. I stopped dead, and noticed another shadowy humanoid right behind me. It walked up to me, and i scrambled backwards, but i tripped and fell, injuring my leg. It stooped over me, and reached for my chest, for my heart. But with a great flash, a silver figure appeared, with a glowing sphere in it's chest, and great silvery, feathery wings folded on it's back, tackled the ghost-like person. They rolled, and both, spreading their wings, flew off away from each other.
I would never forget that night, or the silver person who saved me.
However, I was on my own street, curious about the recent happenings, when another creature appeared, shoving me against a tree. It hissed, "Do not be afraid, this will be quick and painless. Your death is for a great cause!" I jumped, kicking it, but no use. However, i managed to punch it's molten sphere, which did not burn, but which paused it's revolving, and froze in a block of ice. I slipped away, but the core melted again. It grabbed me and flew off with me.
And it knocked me unconscious.
The next day I awoke in an operating type room, everything shaded. I glanced down, and was shocked to see a shade figure operating on my chest, but i felt no pain. I saw it remove my heart, and I screamed. It put it in a jar, labeling it Aaron. How does it know my name?! I wondered, in spite of my terrified state. Then it took another jar, also labeled Aaron, and took out a core, which was a rock, not like the glowing orange rocks with lava you saw inside the others. It put it where my heart was, and the hole was closed. Instantly, shadows began to travel through my body, tendrils of shadow, branching of from the first like roots of a plant. everywhere they traveled, it turned to shadow, until I looked like the others. I had even grown wings. The operator released me, and I spread my wings, but even if I did escape, where could I go? The other in the room realized my revelation, and sat down. I raised a shadowy fist, and hissed out, "What did you do to me?"
It responded, "You are one of us now... " He whispered in a silky tone.
I yelled "No! I DON'T WANT TO BE ONE OF YOU! "
The, whatever it was, laughed, a sound like rock on rock. "It is involuntary. Welcome to the Shadowland."
