| Mistyrain approached the Tallbranch, for the first time in many moons. It was such a relief to return to regular Clan activities - this was the first apprentice ceremony to take place since the flood had hit, and perhaps the most joyful ceremony she had ever initiated. She scrabbled up to the top, scanning the still damaged camp. In a loud, clear voice, she called out a familiar phrase. "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!" As her Clanmates emerged from their dens and gathered beneath her from their various tasks around the clearing, her eyes fell on a small, flame-colored pelt. Burningkit had been born in the mountains, losing both her mother and father soon after birth. Daylily had taken her under her wing, and now she was ready to receive her apprentice name. ______________________________________ ☆ dancer ☆ adventurer ☆ astronomy enthusiast ☆

| Burningkit bounced happily out of the nursery, her bright orange pelt streaking like the sun. Today was the day. She had finally been aged 6 moons, and she would be the first apprentice made back at the new camp. It was still weird for her, being here. Every other cat recognized this place, but she did not. It was not her home quite yet, and she found herself missing the mountains sometimes. Nevertheless, she stood beneath Mistyrain, ready for her new name and mentor. ______________________________________ Astra inclinant... .: Coyotegrin :: Kestrelchirp :: Quailprowler : Singedfox :. #9966ff : #cc3300 : #6699ff : #993366 : Bold WC T5 Warrior : WC T3 Warrior : TC T2 Warrior : SC T1 Warrior (Perma-NPC) "When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire." |

| The she-kit's orange pelt approached, the color striking against the wreckage around camp. "Burningkit, please step forward." She waited for the kit to approach before continuing. "You have reached the age of 6 moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Burningpaw. Sunflower will be your mentor, and I trust that he will pass on to you everything that he knows."
Leaping down from the Tallbranch, she raised her voice along with her Clan to congratulate the newly-named apprentice. She caught Sunflower's eye briefly, giving him a small nod of reassurance. She knew that for Sunflower, mentoring Burningpaw would be a challenge, but she was confident that he would try as hard as he could, and that he would successfully train the young she-cat. ______________________________________ ☆ dancer ☆ adventurer ☆ astronomy enthusiast ☆

| The orange tabby was filled with so many emotions. Was the turning in her stomach excitement? Was the electricity under her pelt anxiety? Maybe it was both. As the chorus of her clanmates rose around her, the newly named Burningpaw looked around for Sunflower, her new mentor. She didn't know him well, but she would soon! The she-cat padded up to her new mentor, her multi-colored eyes locking with his. Purring, she touched noses. Actually quiet for once, in the wake of everything. ______________________________________ Astra inclinant... .: Coyotegrin :: Kestrelchirp :: Quailprowler : Singedfox :. #9966ff : #cc3300 : #6699ff : #993366 : Bold WC T5 Warrior : WC T3 Warrior : TC T2 Warrior : SC T1 Warrior (Perma-NPC) "When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire." |

| Having been sitting near the back of the crowd, Sunflower's oddly large ears perked up when his name was called. He was assigned an apprentice? He'd never had an apprentice before, but supposed that there was a first time for everything and better start now than later. Making his way through the crowd, his sunlit gaze fell upon the ginger tabby, who he assumed was Burningpaw.
Unlike his father who usually had to look up to his apprentices, Sunflower had a different situation. Looking down to the young she-cat, Sunflower bent down to her height and touched noses with her. Part of him wanted to retract straight away, but he kept calm, not wanting to seem as though he disliked Burningpaw. "T-training starts to-m-marrow," the meek voiced warrior mewed, his face stoic. |
