Arcayus of the Oasis [Loner]

Cat Name: Arcayus [Birthname] / Patrick [Loner name] / Marshmallow [Clan name]

Tom or She-Cat: Tom

Appearance: Long white fur with pale cream paws and ears. He has ice blue eyes that are very expressive, and a bright pink nose. Arc has a strong and lean frame. Overall, he is a beautiful tom, but this is slightly marred by a disheveled coat due to a moon as a loner.

Spoiler:

Personality: Somewhat timid and skittish, both internally and externally. Arc deals with unfortunate anxiety and a drive for self-preservation. Despite this and his lack of bravery, he often defaults to attempts at a tough exterior and a kind nature. He is naturally gifted when it comes to making friends and creating relationships because he prefers to talk rather than fight. Known to be more of a feeler than a thinker, unlike his late brother, Artemis.

Arc will not be used for a couple of months until I have a 3rd slot available [Brookclover/Starlord are going, and another will be gone after plot]. I am posting this early to commit myself to the concept.

Arcayus is approved, as long as you don't rp him until you have a slot!

However, -mallow is unfortunately not an acceptable suffix. You'll have to pick a different one in the future

Staff had a discussion about names and naming conventions and whether or not Marshmallow would be acceptable, and we have come to the decision to decline it.

We do agree that Marsh- is an acceptable prefix, but in this case we don't feel it's an appropriate name for a WindClan cat. The moors are dry and grassy and we feel like marshes aren't integral enough to WindClan life for Finchstar to choose that name for him. We think it is more likely for a RiverClan or ShadowClan cat to have that prefix.

We also agree that -mallow is an acceptable suffix. However, we are worried about the fact that Arcayus will not have an apprentice name; new users may see a cat who was never named Marshkit or Marshpaw have the warrior name of Marshmallow and be confused by naming conventions.


With that said, we have made the decision to deny the warrior name of Marshmallow in this particular case. We have used this discussion to put more thought into what we find acceptable or not for names, and while we have said no here, it doesn't mean that it will never be allowed. We simply don't feel it's right for this scenario.
