Hunting with a bee!

IC: Blazingfire stood by the camp entrance, ready to wait for his new apprentice, Beepaw. They were going to hunt a lot of prey for the clan. The warrior couldn't wait to have Beepaw see the territory.

Beepaw rushed out of her new den, smiling brightly. The nests weren't as comfortable as she expected, and her sleep much less resting, but the pure adrenaline of finally becoming an apprentice was enough for her to sport boundless energy. Not sparing time for a morning meal, the young she-cat, chipper and bouncy, joined her new mentor at the camp exit.

Blazingfire nodded at the apprentice's eagerness and gestured for her to follow. "We're going on a small hunting patrol to stock up prey. Follow me and i'll show you my favorite hunting spot." said the warrior as he left the camp with the younger cat trailing behind.

The tom had made sure to give a quick tour of the territory for Beepaw as well as letting her explore for a bit before getting back to the task at hand. "Alright Beepaw, I want you to pay attention to how I hunt that squirrel over on that branch. At first you might want to try and go for the prey on the land or on low branches. I'll show you the hunter's crouch after I go after the squirrel. That's the technique used to hunt prey on the ground."

The ginger warrior quietly stalked right under the creature's branch. He then backed up a slight bit to make sure he wouldn't foolishly hit his head on the branch. Blazingfire then bunched his haunches before the leap. After a few moments, the tom jumped. He hissed in annoyance when the furry creature rushed up the tree before he was even spotted. What?

The tom was now on balancing on the surprisingly thick branch. His fiery orange gaze widened when he spotted a snowy owl silently swooping to them. "Beepaw duck!" he warned. The tom then ducked his head just as the creature tried to grab his scruff. 'Oh no you don't!' he thought silently. Once the bird began to swoop once more, Blazingfire reared up on his hind legs, impressively keeping balance on the now swaying branch. Once the owl was right up against the warrior's face, he unleashed blow after blow to the owl's face with both of his paws. That caused the predator to spiral down onto the ground, slightly stunned but getting ready to fly again.

Blazingfire jumped down from the branch and rushed to address Beepaw, "Beepaw! Pin it down before it gets back up!" The warrior prepared to help the apprentice keep it down.

OOC: What luck! The first dice roll was a predator encounter! Once we beat the owl, you can have Beepaw try to hunt one prey before they both will go back to camp.

Beepaw was in the process of meticulously watching her mentor as he hunted when the owl swooped in. Something in the back of her mind was cheering this opportunity to prove herself to Blazingfire. Stepping back, the she-cat nodded to her mentor as he directed her, waiting for the creature to attempt to attack her. Soon enough, a flurry of brown feathers, it dove down towards her, but Beepaw was ready, holding her paws out and leaping, landing on its back and making it crash into the ground, trashing under her. With a shaky balance, the apprentice tore down with her claws at the bird's back, plucking out feathers and leaving scars.

Beepaw used Leap-and-Hold, costing 10 SP and dealing 6 damage.
