There's a First time for Everything (Closed for Bunjamin)

Scarletsong slowly crawled out of her nest. She groaned. She had barely slept last night because she had been thinking of today. She didn't know what to feel. Excitement or fear. Marshstorm had just made her mentor of Thornpaw, and today she was going to train the young cat. It felt like it was just a day ago that she herself had been made an apprentice. Will I even know what to do? Scarletsong was afraid of messing up. She could barely remember how her mentor, Emberheart, had taught her, and if she paused or forgot what to say, or even messed up at hunting or demonstrating a fighting move, she didn't know what to do. That would be so embarrassing! Already, she was hoping Marshstorm would make another warrior Thornpaw's mentor, but she knew that would be even more embarrassing. Sighing, she slowly grabbed a piece of prey and gulped it down, and then walked over to the apprentices' den. "Thornpaw! Training!" she meowed.

Thornpaw blinked sleepily, rolling over his her nest as soon as her mentor called out to her. Bits and pieces of moss were hanging out of her fluffy ginger pelt, and she was sure her tail was tickling somebody's nose. The newly-named apprentice got up hastily, shaking her fur as soon as she got outside, and stretched her sore back. She had slept like she had never slept before, even as a kit. Deciding to skip her morning meal altogether, Thornpaw hopped towards Scarletsong, already excited.

"Let's go, let's go, let's go!" she mewed, smiling.

Scarletsong had to stifle a laugh as she gazed at her new apprentice. Random pieces of moss hung from her pelt, and her fur was all messed up. But that's understandable, she thought to herself. She didn't look any better when she was an apprentice. Coughing, she meowed, "Alright, Thornpaw. Today I'm going to teach you fighting." She walked over slowly to a random bush. "This move is the simplest fighting move you can learn, but it's useful in some situations, so it's still kind of important." She struggled to find the right words to say but fortunately her sentence made sense. "Now I'm going to demonstrate the move, and afterwards follow me, okay?" Swift as a snake, she lashed out a paw and struck the bush hard, and tiny leaves fluttered down like green feathers.
