Tigerkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Crowstar jumped up onto the Tallbranch and called out to his clan. "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather here for a clan meeting!"

At the sound of Crowstar's summon, Tigerkit padded slowly out of the nursery. Being a shy cat, she opted to sit at the back of the crowd, where she thought she would attract less attention. Her heart fluttered like a butterfly within her chest. The long-awaited moment had finally arrived....

"Today we are gathered here to name a new apprentice. Tigerkit please come forward." The leader waited for a moment for the kit to come forward. "Tigerkit from this moment forward, until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Tigerpaw. Your mentor will be Elmcloud, I hope he passes his patience onto you." The leader said before ending the ceremony.

Slowly and a little uncertainly, Tigerkit stepped forward when her name was called. A thrill ran through her body at her new name. She was Tigerpaw now, no longer Tigerkit. She touched her nose to her mentor's, nervousness making her movement a little awkward. As she did so, she locked her yellow eyes with his amber ones, wondering what kind of cat Elmcloud was.
