Tinders of Remembrance (Open for All!)

Blackpaw walked beside Pinepaw, keeping a respectful distance. His gaze remained ahead, posture low. "I see that," he remarked, with no humorous tone to his voice. He unsheathed his claws to keep him clutched to the earth. Blinking his eyes often so that their vibrant blue luminescence did not ward any valuable prey away.

Mosspaw silently slipped through the undergrowth and trees, seemingly lost in thought. She had done this so many times, she may as well have known every twig that she stepped on. Her small frame was easy to miss in the darkness, her light pelt and emerald eyes the only things giving her away. She was nimble and light on her feet, darting ahead of the others. After a short while, she reminded herself to check the others were still with her.
"Still here?" She smirked at the two toms. "Hmph. I used to sneak out all the time as a kit, but would never go far. Now, it's technically not against the rules to go out at night, but I enjoy it."

Blackpaw glanced to Mosspaw, sprinting, yet not quite. He finally fell in step beside her, yet shot her a swift warning glance to slow down, before he did. He, too, was agile on his paws, yet he was more modest about it.

"Alright, fine." Mosspaw slowed to a jog, and checked behind her again. She gazed up at the sky full of stars. It was one of her favourite sights in the world, staring at those glimmering diamonds through gaps in the leafy canopy. It was nights like these that she lived for.

Pinepaw jogged behind to join the two apprentices, yet he kept a calm expression that didn't siggest anything as he followed them through the thickets. The stary sky was indeed beautiful, though Pinepaw was sure he couldn't appreciate the sky.

No he couldn't.

"I see you were quite the trouble-maker, then." he said as he finaly reached Mosspaw and Blackpaw.

Blackpaw slowed his pace as well. Following Mosspaw's gaze. Instinctively, he said, quietly, "Nights like these are rare sights for me," although he shook his head, remembering the solemn night that his mentor had died, and not to wallow in his own self pity. Blackpaw's bright blue orbs returned to Pinepaw, who had trotted up beside the two.

"If you mean that I wanted to live my life without regrets, when you say 'troublemaker', then yes. When I die, I'm going to go up and join all those stars that I love, but you know what? I'm going to make the most of my time here, even if it bends the rules a bit. Hence why I come here every night." Mosspaw stopped and jumped atop a log. "My favourite spot if I feel like stopping."

Pinepaw's muscles tightened as the she-cat mentioned joining the stars, and the overwhelming sense of annoyance buzzed through him, but he kept it under controll, giving Mosspaw a sarcastic smirk as she climbed atop a log. He joined her up, keeping his distance, and glared up at the moon, his face set into a wonderous look.

Blackpaw gave Pinepaw a friendly nudge. "Stop daydreamin' lad!" He exclaimed in a mock accent, which was surprisingly good for Blackpaw's young age.

Mosspaw sighed in slight annoyance. "First of all, it's not daytime, so 'daydreaming' isn't really a good word to use. Second of all, who said daydreaming is bad? It's not like we've got anything to do right now." She gave a small smirk as her gaze returned to the stars, the crickets' melodic chirping pleasing to her ears.

Pinepaw snapped back to life and growled at the older apprentice, his emerald eyes gleaming. "I was not daydreaming." he spat, then he returned his attention towards the moon. He thought how beautiful it was, so white and gleaming.

OOC: I think he likes white cats... Whelp, his future mate will be a white cat, so...

Blackpaw turned his nose up in annoyance, padding slightly farther from the grumpy apprentice. "Alrighty," he mewed simply, the night spread like a sable tarp above their small feline figures.
