| Okay, so, my sister and her boyfriend and her boyfriend's brother (who has a crush on me, but idk if I rlly like him yet) wants me to go to this party where I know there will be some bad stuff happening. I'm only going to be a highschool freshman this coming school year so I'm fairly young and I'm not sure weather or not to go. My sis said that if I don't like it, I can tell everyone that I feel sick and I can txt my mom to pick me up and take me home early, but idk if I should even go in the first place.
Should I go and give it a try? Should I not even go? My parents expect me to be the perfect child bc I'm the only one who didn't turn out doing drugs or getting involved in bad stuff, and I want to live up to their expectations but not be a perfect, snobby nobody. I need imput from you guys, teens/preteens/kids/whatever close to my age. Thanks! ______________________________________ Emberleaf - Crowclaw - Adderfur - Frozenflame - Blazingleap Gingerpaw |

| Don't go bro. I'm going to be a senior this coming year, and I can say this from experience; if your gut tells you not to go...don't go. You can have just as much fun at home... Honestly I've had the best summer ever and most of it consisted of Pokémon Go and running around abandoned malls with my friends. High school is the judgiest place you will ever go to, and don't listen to those adults who tell you "it'll be the best years of your life." That doesn't mean high school is bad, it just means the only way you survive is if you be yourself and listen to your gut. You're going to be judged and pressured no matter what you do... So might as well do what you feel is right. I don't know...XD That got deep. ______________________________________ |

| Definitely don't go. If I know high school parties, there will definitely be drinks, drugs, and the... you-know-what. (1) Alcohol smells good, but it tastes awful! It also messes with your head and brain development if you are underage. (2) Drugs are almost never just "a one-time thing". After the first, you will want more to get the same feeling, but it will never be the same as the first time. But you will still try, and you will find yourself living under a bridge with nothing but the clothes on your back, stealing money to get your next fix.
Ahem. Back to the next thing.
(3) High school parties almost always include some people trying to do the do. [a] It's illegal if you are under 18 (17 in some states) [b] You might get a virus, some people aren't the cleanest.. and [c] You might get (or someone else) pregnant. Babies are gross, and difficult and expensive to take care of
Some teenagers are completely irresponsible, doing stupid things just because they think they can get away with it. They won't. Better to stay out of it completely. And you won't be snobby for not going, none of them will know what you look like anyways once you start school. Those parties are often where the drama starts anyway.
a weird rant, sorry. i don't really have anything else to do. |

| I agree you shouldn't go. I'm going to be a Junior in high school in august i think idk when my school gets in over here, but I've never been to a high school party at someone's house and I can tell you right away there will probably be drugs and alcohol and the you-know-what like Night said. I've been to high school dances and somebody had managed to bring some weed into the dance and my boyfriend and I could smell it and there were even some cops outside of out school gym as security! But then again after two, going on three, years of high school ik some people who have gone to a high school party and there were all three of those things and its disgusting to hear people talking about it the next day or on Monday or something like that, and it made it worse because I sat next to most of the bad kids in my first period and all I would hear was about parties and things and all of their talking made me never wanna step into that world, for fearing I would get into the things they were doing, and believe me I have some friends who said "I'll go to this party and never do any of these" of course they always ended up doing exactly what they'd tell them selves they shouldn't do. So I suggest that you don't go lol.
Sorry for the long and weird rant lol. |

| So, um, being in 7th grade (first year of high school here), and the oldest in my family (OK, I'm a twin, but I was born first!), and I've never been to a party like that, so I don't know if I'm entirely qualified here, but... definitely don't go. Like others have said, they'll definitely be drinking, drugs, and....the thing. I can't go into too much detail since I'm on mobile, so I can't go into too much detail, and I think Night has summed this up perfectly.
Some teenagers are just very irresponsible - and it's likely that the ones hosting the party will be too. Some do things becauwe they think they can get away with them. They won't, trust me, and it's better not to get involved at all. Things like drinking, drugs and the you-know-what.....you might think that you can't be pressured into trying them. It's what most people think, but you'd be surprised about how bad peer pressure can be. Never think that you can't be pressured into doing something - because someone always can, and in the situations you'll find yourself in at parties, it'll be difficult to be able to say no - in fact, it sounds like you're under a bit of peer pressure to go to the party. Just say no - it's better not to put yourself in those kind of pressurising situations.
You can still have heaps of fun if you don't go, I dare say even more. Go explore your town, play Pokemon Go in a group with good friends who aren't going. Hell, come on WCC and chat! We're all your virtual friends here :) Grab a big bowl of Doritos and binge watch TV shows and movies. If you're up to it, make a pillow fort! (You're never too old for them. NEVER.) Draw a bit. Go to the movies. Stare at memes all night. Read a book!
If you want you could even talk to your parents and see if you could go bowling, or something like that, with them. They'll appreciate you spending time with them and not getting involved with all the bad stuff at the party, and you get to know them better, talk to them, and you'll be having fun! Win-win!
Don't worry about coming across as snobby or pretentious. Trust me, you won't be seen like that, and just as Beanie said, they way to survive is to be yourself. Hope that helped :) ______________________________________ | site moderator |please readtawnystorm ~ sparkflower ~mossfoot ~ pale light of dusk riverclan warrior ~ thunderclan meddie ~ windclan warrior ~ tribe of endless skies elder |

| Tbh you should never go anywhere if you don't feel like going. If you really wanted to go, I'd say go for it and stay out of trouble. ______________________________________ 》Former Admin《 Rushkit | RiverClan Kit | #4b5320 Lionpaw | ThunderClan Apprentice | #cb945f |
