Which is your favorite anime?

Mine would be Attack On Titan, Tokyo Ghoul and Blue Exorcist

Boo, those are all mainstream favorites. You guys are so cliche and don't know true art. //hair flips
But in more serious manners, I'm currently a fan of Madoka Magica, Your Lie in April, ERASED, and Clannad... Maybe add in Nagi no Asukara or AnoHana. There's a lot of genres of anime and different things you like from each of them, so I can't really pick a real favorite, haha. A lot of them are pretty good and tend to different things that the audience wants, after all.

I just recently started watching anime like last week. Blue Exorcist, Attack on Titan and Tokyo Ghoul were my first three anime so I like them more than most.

Not saying I hate the ones in the poll, but I like the smaller, lesser known animes. My top faves: Wolf's Rain, Brother's Conflict, The Idol M@ster, ERASED//internally screams, Your Lie in April, Noragami, Coppelion, Railgun, and Wolf Children. If I had to choose a favorite out of those (which is suuuuper hard ;-;), I would choose Wolf's Rain. It's majestically sad/tragic, makes you cry and want to die, but in the end... watching it was totally worth it <3

I'm on episode 4 of Wolf's Rain. I remember you had told me something about it quite a while ago. I remember you told me not to watch it and I was like "Okie" but now I'm watching it and so far it's awesome

I mean, I'm fine with major anime fandoms but they can be really overhyped sometimes and people spoil super fast, especially when you have anime geeks for friends. :c
Personally, my first five anime were Pokemon, Digimon, Kanon (2006), Cardcaptor Sakura, and Tsubasa Chronicles... and admittedly, I started watching them when I was around 7 - 8. ^^;;;

I wish I had more time to watch more anime, but my current favorite is Noragami. It's pretty great and you guys should watch it if you got time ;w;

Madoka Magica will mess with your head but it was really good too.

I really loved Noragami, it's so cute! Anyone heard of Owari no Seraph? I think it's pretty high on my list, but idk... I can't really choose... .-. I've watched so much anime in the past two years... I'm trying to get through Free! right now, but.. I just can't handle... the fan service... SO. MUCH. FAN SERVICE. My friend somehow convinced me to watch it... ;-;


And yay Bleu, when I first came on this site, I saw you were a fan of pretty much everything I was... except anime... But now you're into anime too! Have you found the dark side yet? It's it a bit scary...

And Bleu, based on your show/book preferences, here are some I think you may like:

Movies:
-Spirited Away
-Howl's Moving Castle
-Ponyo
-Princess Mononoke
-Wolf Children

Fantasy/Comedy:
-Bleach
-SAO (People tend to either HATE or LOVE this anime. Not many in between.)
-FMA (A little bit sad, but still a fair amount of comedy)
-InuYasha
-Angel Beats (The end is hardly any where near comedy, but the first half of the show is pretty light-hearted)
-Noragami (So. Cuuuuuuute! <3)
-The Seven Deadly Sins (Very good, heartwarming, and sweet, but there's quite a bit of action in it too, as well as very sad and/or dramatic scenes.)

Dramas/Heartwrenchers/Moral Questioning:
-Death Note
-Black Butler (Pretty dark, though there is quite a few lighter moments.)
-Durarara (Based on what I've seen, it's little known, but very good. Be warned, there is a lot of plotline and more characters than you can keep track of. Not to mention that like 6 characters have online names you have to remember, and one guy has two accounts. It's pretty fast paced, but well worth it.)
-Psycho-Pass (Also not quite as well known, but well worth your time. The second season isn't quite as good as the first though)
-Owari no Serpah/Serpah of the End (SO GOOD! It made me cry so much, and even just listening to the music from it makes me want to break down in tears! I recommend everyone to watch this right this very moment. I watched all 24 episodes in 26 hours, on a school day.)
-Shiki (This is not your average vampire show. It REALLY questions your morals, and has a lot of gore in it. There is no clear good or bad side, both the vampires and the humans get portrayed in a negative light. 95% of the characters have died before the show finally comes to an end. the first 20ish episodes seem innocent enough, then everything goes to hell and your mind will be bent in ways you could have never thought possible.)

Sorry, that turned longer than I thought it would be. This list applies to everyone really. There are probably more really good animes, but these are just the best of what I've watched.

I like more things like Pokémon and all those other shows/movies with animals and you know...

Oh Skia this is still so weird for me have you seen the second season of Noragami? I didn't realize anyone else had watched it ;w; I thought I was alone in my adventures.

As for animal anime, I'm not really sure I know of any of those to be honest. I mean... you got Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh! (ish. If you like monsters).

To be completely honest, I don't particularly like Digimon, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and others in the same genre of card games and monster dueling. In fact, I really dislike them. I prefer anime with a deep, possibly dark plot line. Stuff that really touches your soul and makes you feel like you're missing something in life. I need anime to get my brain working. Otherwise, I find it boring.

Just to be clear, Persona doesn't count as a card game anime, because they don't play with their cards, they only use them to summon their Persona, which aren't monster pets. More like gigantic avatars.

You haven't watched Digimon yet, then. Especially season 3. Since all of the Digimon stories aren't really a continuation of each other, it's okay to hop into it whenever. Chiaki J. Konaka, the writer of Serial Experiments Lain, did the writing for season 3. I'm kind of biased though because honestly, the Digimon story lines really aren't lighthearted stuff like the Pokemon series. It focuses a lot on actual problems and has a nice, dark story to compliment it. Slow starts, yes, but they're really not that bad and are pretty engaging. Then again, I might have my nostalgia goggles on too much since I loved the stories as a kid and did a rewatch this year and still loved it. ^^;;

But if you're into deep and dark, definitely go for Madoka Magica or ERASED. And probably a lot more I can't remember off the top of my head. Don't be off-put by the cuteness of Madoka. It's going to be worth it to watch, I swear.
