Barkpaw's Training

Mudfoot woke before sunup and gave a yawn. Giving his legs a good stretch, he padded to the apprentice den and peeped his head in. "Barkpaw, let's go!" He meowed happily. The fluffy tom shook his fluffy fur and walked to the center of camp, sitting down and awaiting his apprentice.

Barkpaw got out ready to train. "What are we dong today?" he asked

"Today we'll be working on your hunting skills." He mowed with a smile and started toward the entrance. "Oh, I forgot. Do you want anything to eat before we leave?"

"Nah." he said."I want to hunt,not eat." he said excitedly."Can we go?"

"Sure, I'm glad you're eager to start." He meowed and trotted out of the camp entrance. He padded through the thick foliage and the two were soon at the Thunderpath. "You've been here before, right?" He forgot if he'd shown Barkpaw this place before.

Barkpaw nodded."I think I was." he said to Mudfoot.

"Well, there's not much to see here besides the horrible smelling road and twoleged monsters." He said with a snort, his nose started to sting. "Lets move on, shall we?" Mudfoot trotted along on the ShadowClan border, but pushing a little deeper into the dense forest. "Now you are going to hunt. Try to catch as much as possible and I'll catch up when I think you've had enough time."

Barkpaw nodded. Crouching, he stalked a vole, and pounced on it,killing it with one blow to the head.Barkpaw then noticed a crow,a crouching, pounced on it,, Barkpaw killing it with a bite to the neck. Then he waited for Mudfoot to come back.

Mudfoot followed Barkpaw in silence, staying hidden under thick bushes. After a little while, his apprentice seemed to catch enough prey and he padded out of the bushes with a smile. "Good job!" He exclaimed, looking at Barkpaw's kills.

Barkpaw nodded in pride. "Do we hunt more, or do we head back for camp?" he asked his mentor.

"I think that's enough for today. You did well Barkpaw." He said with a smile. "Why don't we take your kills back to camp?" Today had been a successful training and the tom was glad Barkpaw was so eager to learn.
