What are the duties of a medicine cat: The duties of the Medicine Cat is similar to that of a Queen; to care for cats. But rather unlike the mothers of the clan, a Medicine Cat must care for all cats, showing compassion for the smallest of kits to the crankiest of Elders. They must have strong convictions, and know how to defend themselves, but unlike a warrior they need not focus on defense through causing pain; they focus on the spiritual and physical well-being of the clan.
Their main strength, of course, must deal with the use of herbs and in the practices of healing, but there are other traits necessary for a Medicine Cat. For one, it helps if they are patient, keeping their cool under pressure and knowing how to talk themselves out of tricky situations and for dealing with frustrated, pained and frightened clanmates. Compassion is another plus - not just for their own cats, but occasionally open to aid other clans as well. And of course, they must have a certain reverence for the cats of their past - those members of Starclan who they seek guidance from, to help the leaders of their clans to make the right decisions.
What you would do with this position: Heronwing has always proven himself to feel a little wary of battle - he is a more peacable cat by nature; who would likely take more joy in caring for his clanmates than he would fighting for them. Not that he hasn't backed away from a battle. He has just preferred hunting and more...calming practices to heat and blood and drawing his claws. He is known to have a rather jovial nature, but at the same time keeps a level head, and isn't likely to panic under pressure.
Why you think you deserve this position:
I feel I'm a decent writer, who's spent a few months on this site, and who tries to post at least once a week, if not more, and make my characters active; giving at the very least a paragraph for people to work with, and I can write longer sections. I am familiar with all of the Warrior's Saga now, having caught up with the entire series, and feel like I could handle the responsibility of a Medicine Cat with ease, after having done so on previous sites, some of which I have created myself from scratch.
I am also willing to write a longer, sample role play application if that is preferable.
