Stormpaw's hunting

Lightstrem stretched, then padded out of the warriors den. The sunlight streamed down on her and made her light-grey fur shine. Lightstream padded over to the freshkill pile and noticed that there was only a few pieces left. She grabbed a skinny fish and gulped it down quickly, then padded over to the apprentices den. "Stormpaw, Wanna go hunting?" Lightstream half whispered-half said into the apprentices den. She sat down and let the sun warm her fur.

Stormpaw lifted his head from his paws and listened to Lightstream. He just came out of the apprentice den and nodded, starting to pad out of camp, his smooth pelt shining in the sunlight.

Lightstream stood up and took the lead heading towards the river. When she got there, she turned around to face Stormpaw. "Ok, stormpaw, do you know how to fish?" Lightstream asked as she licked her lips.

"Slightly." he quickly answered. He didn't talk much, but he was still eager to learn

"Ok, watch how I do it. First, you keep your shadow off the water," Lightstream said as she crouched down close to the water. "Next, you need to stay as silent as possible. Any sudden movement or noise could scare them." She whispered. "And now you wait." Lightstream waited until a medium sized fish came swimming by. Lightstream concentrated, then struck out her paw in the water and tried to scoop out the fish. Lightstream was embarrassed as she completely missed the fish. "Now you try."

Stormpaw moved to a deeper part in the river, away from his mentors spot. He sat by the edge and watched the water flick with movement. Noticing a bigger fish closer to the edge of the river, he jabbed his paw into the water. He drug the fish onto the land and killed it with one bite. He looked to his mentor.

Lightstream felt a bit embarrassed that her apprentice could hunt better than her. "Nice job," Lightstream meowed. "You did good! Now lets try catching a mouse." Lightstream flicked her tail to follow, then ran off. She stopped for a minuet and sniffed the air. She smelled mouse. "Stormpaw, what do you smell?" Lightstream asked

Stormpaw sniffed the air, smelling (not sure how to describe mouse .3.). He noticed a tiny brown rodent facing away from him, playing with a nut. He stalked forward, remembering others doing it. He darted out to catch it.
