Who doesn't love their own personal pack-mule when in the midst of stealing everything shiny that you see? Lydia serves as your
b*tch "housecarl", and therefore, helps you fight, which is handy when in a tight situation. She is also somewhat of a comic-relief character, (though unintentionally) because of how she will walk into almost every trap that you pass. I understand that she is to protect your character, but honestly..? I love her nonetheless. :D
